Even Soros can't cause a tank job like this. The dollar strength rides on the strength of the Bush election. The NYT story will have an impact.

Can Sorros and 4 high $$$$ demos cause a run? Kerry can't win the WOT vote, his only hope is the economy. |

Re business manipulation...
Have wondered... If most 'captains of industry' really are Republicans...
To defend a Republican re-election, 'Captains of industry' could hire a bunch of minimum-wage workers a few months before the election. Drive the unemployment rate into the dirt. Create an artificial, short-term economic boom.
Might not cost much more than daddy warbucks' spending on political contributions and lobbyists.
Similarly, Republican captains of industry could manipulate Democrat presidential re-election bids by mass layoffs a few months before an election, artificially and temporarily driving up unemployment figures.
Haven't noticed any pre-election drastic employment changes. Perhaps conspiracy is too risky? Perhaps captains of industry are too selfish to lose money on unnecessary employees, and would just as soon let a Democrat win? Or perhaps there isn't really a Republican majority among the captains of industry? |

Jc,never thought about that!...Hum
Three weeks before the election the jobless rate soars to 75 percent (min. wage jobs) then alakazam! Nov 3 it goes right back to 4 percent while your being sworn in!
I think it would work? _________________ MOPAR-BUYER |

I heard earlier this year (from Drudge or Hannity, I think), that Soros was planning to attempt to wreck the stock market before the election... _________________ "If I must choose between righteousness and peace, I choose righteousness." -- Theodore Roosevelt |
