The story on Drudge took the wind out of my sails. Now that the CIA has said they can't verify the tape, I'm in the dumps. I don't want a terror attack, but this story would have ended the campaign. The focus would have totally shifted to terrorism. That's Bush's bread and butter topic. Now, it appears to be a false alarm.

Honestly, I'm surprised the CIA didn't vouch for the tape's authenticity. This tape found the light of day for a reason and that should be a big concern to Homeland Security. How could they not take this seriously after Madrid. I'm sure they are, but I think the terror alert level should have been raised. There's no doubt in my mind that we're in more danger with the election just six days away.

I hate to say this, but I'm getting concerned. I'm not sure if Kerry has momentum, but Bush sure doesn't. It's probably a two point race nationally and I don't have a good feeling about right now. That's why this terror tape hurts. It was the one thing that could have changed the dynamic of the race.

Don't let it bother you. Kerry has made a major flub by running with the Iraq explosives story before it was known that they probably were missing before the US forces invaded. He is looking foolish and Bush is whupping him over it. Here's Bush: "After repeatedly calling Iraq the wrong war, and a diversion, Senator Kerry this week seemed shocked to learn that Iraq is a dangerous place, full of dangerous weapons..." The emphasis on this story is going to backfire on Kerry big time because it demonstrates what Bush was saying all along, that Saddam had dangerous weapons and was a threat. We are going to win.

I want to agree with you on that. Kerry got too far in front of the story, but we're still talking about it. The MSM are still talking about it and Kerry is on the attack. Bush seems to be defending himself. That worries me.

I think every nerve is fried by now. I was encouraged by the new ad put out by President Bush's campaign.

It's called "Whatever it Takes"

Take the time to watch it. It isn't very long and worth watching. See if you feel the same way.

I suggest that you make contact with at least two people and convince them to vote for President Bush. This will make you feel better.

A friend's friend went canvasing door to door for Kerry the other day --- she ended up depressed, disheartened, discouraged ---- most doors she knocked on were Bush supporters -- many gave it a try to change her vote ----

Do what you can to encourage support for President Bush or against Kerry --- what ever works for you.... it is better than worrying

Surely you're not suggesting that the CIA LIE to the people of this country in order to influence the election? Shocked

That's one of the most wacko things I've ever seen on this board!

In case you haven't seen it in my other posts - there is a moratorium declared in ALL forums here on pessimism and "downer" posts.

THIS is not the time to be pessimistic. This is a time to work to convert just one more person away from voting for Traitor John.

This is the time for optimism and smiling as we watch the last turds of the snit avalanche fall on this poser's pretension to the office of President of the United States.

John Fraud Kerry is about to lose the only thing he ever truly wanted with a passion in his life, and a large part of it is due to these brave Swiftees coming forward and telling their story with truth, dignity and honor.

You dishonor them with such wild suggestions and pessimism.

I think the topic being talked about is good for Bush. First, Kerry is most likely wrong and the explosives were most likely moved before the US invaded. The MSM has changed their story now to "we don't know what happened." Second, if the explosive were "looted" after we invaded, it was an error by the military and not by Bush himself, seeing that he doesn't micro-manage the war (I don't think this is what happened, though - how do you "loot" 380 tons of something?). Third, it brings into focus the weapons Saddam had and it helps justify the invasion. It brings focus to the danger and threat that Saddam was.
This was meant to be the big October surprise by the Democrats and it has turned out to be a wash, if not backfire on them.
Everything is gonna be alright.

whacker, darlin' if that is all it takes to remove the wind from your sails, tI hope you have some form of auxilliary power. Otherwise you must spend a lot of time at drift with the doldrums.

I think right about now, the Bush people should make an ad using the most "hysterical" (and maybe hoarse) clip they can of Kerry, and then have Bush make the point that what the country needs is calm, steady, determined, and patient leadership that does not panick at every bump in the road. A very good case can be made that Kerry has panicked and is advocating panic.

A 2nd ad would focus on his Senate record, esp. his opposition to Reagan's standing up to the Soviets, weapons systems, and voting against Gulf War 1. Nail him on being against the new bunker-busters, too.

It'd also be VERY illuminating to point out Kerry has no real "executive" experience, and the evidence is that he'd be a micro-manager worse than Johnson or Carter, but, I can't quite "visualize" that ad.

Yes, this election is too close for comfort, but that just means we all need to work like crazy, however we can help!

HMMM... how about a person at a desk with a very long line of staff with papers waiting for an approval stamp. Some of the staf could be in military uniform and I sure they could think of other modes of dress to show how complex the government is....

Gees... Bush has a Harvard MBA, ran companies and runs the office by delegating and not micromanaging..... Kerry, Clinton, Hillary - no business experience...

Just my 2 cents worth!!!! Very Happy
The only thing I can see that Kerry has ever run is a campaign, and even then, this time he had to call in the old Clinton bunch.

I guess if one looks hard enough for a reason to be down they will find it. Then again, if one looks for a reason to be up they will find it. Reasons abound to be up about this election for Bush supporters. I just made another bet today that Bush would win 300 plus electoral and the popular vote. With my other bets, I expect a windfall come November 3. Laughing

The swiftees are now hammering in PA, FLA is going big for Bush, many "should be" Kerry states are up for grabs, like Hawaii.....Kerry is a goner, and I salute him goodbye...well the single digit salute anyway.

Choose up, choose life! Wink
