I posted this on WizBang on the messages about an article where someone was flashing "Kerry/Edwards" signs from their car...

Totally out of character for me:

Coming out of our local Trader Joe's store (in good ol' wacky CA), a table to my right with Bush/Cheney stickers, a couple of pamphlets, and a fund jar manned (personed?) by two lovely older ladies.

To the left, a table with a large sign demanding "BUSH OUT!"... A display stood on an easle behind the table about... yes, The Draft, and another sign prompting folks to "Change Parties Here".

I simply was not myself for a few moments... I looked at the Dem table with many many folks walking in and out of the store and said quite loudly "The draft?!? You folks are STILL clinging to THAT straw??"

The poor ladies there turned red and started to gibber, but then I channeled DeNiro from the theater scene in "Cape Fear" (the one where he's smoking on that cigar and laughing really loud) and I just cackled the most mocking laughter that ever came out of me.

At the same time I had stunned these misguided sheep, I walked over to the Bush/Cheney table (still laughing, and yes, people were were stopped and watching, it was quite a scene... again, out of character for me) deposited the small monetary contents of my wallet into their jar, and they handed me several "W" stickers.

I stopped laughing just long enough to tell the Bush/Cheney folks "Keep up the great work, ladies!", turned back to the Dem table, and began the extra-loud laughing as I walked back to my car.

I heard clapping behind me. (remember, this is in CA!)

Driving home, I couldn't believe that that was ME who just did that. I looked in the mirror to see a huge grin that didn't subside for hours.

I think I was a bit out of character (well, maybe not!) when I kept circling a rotary (traffic circle for you non New Englanders) full of Kerry pustules, er, I mean people with their dopey signs, with my "thumbs down" hanging out the window and horn beeping. After her initial mortification, my wife joined in!! LOLOL!

Kind of makes you wonder how well Kerry is doing if his supporters have to be out in Massachusetts of all places!

Time to pull out all the stops!! America is counting on us!

I'll have admit I've done some stuff that I shouldn't but not illegal.

When I see a car plastered with Kerry/Edwards stickers I position my truck through traffic to get in front of them.

I have my Swifvets sign in the rear window and I do this almost everyday and I sometimes slow my pace, so I know they will look up at my truck to see the sign for sure as they are trying to figure out how to get around me. Then I speed back up to normal speed as they are trying to get over.

It's the little things in life..............

The back window of my P/U is an American flag mural. Combine this with a "We're not Fonda Jane", Vietnam Vet and Vets for Bush stickers and I'm bound to get some reaction here in the socialist republic of Santa Fe. Well, one day, this granola passes me and gives me the finger. He just happend to pick the day I was out of meds. I guess he now understands that his volvo and my 3/4 ton Dodge deisel truck can't occupy the same space at the same time..... F**kin' hippies

Me, in full public view: "Oh my, that was wrong! Someone might have been hurt!"
Me, after the cameras stop rolling: "High-five, Brother Shooter!"
