just to let you know, the DNC has been sending out emails to everyone on their list to bombard the polls on fox, cnn, nbc, cbs, etc.
this is the reason i do NOT believe those polls!! Wink

look at it this way ~ HAWAII is "in play". Laughing THAT says something. Razz also, i have talked w/ some on other forums ~ in places like NJ & PA & they are encouraged about their states, AT LEAST being close for bush, but they do believe that bush will carry their states.

i'm going to be busy in the bean fields w/ my dad the next few days, if there is no rain, so most likely i wont be around much. maybe someone from rightnation will come along w/ a copy of 1 of those emails from the DNC to show you.

(edited for typo)

I agree with the bombardment tactics being used -- also, here in Minnesota, there are a lot of people against Kerry but they are not making a display of it ... I'm fine with the "wait and see" and let the crunchers eat their numbers in the end!

This is old news. However, there seems to be some confusion about informal polls vs. scientific polls. The polls that anyone can vote in on many web sites, news organizations, etc. are informal polls and do not relate to the scientific polls which is typically where polling organizations call specific registered voters and tally the results with various "massaging" to more accurately reflect the electorate.

Great post we got to keep our messages positive from here on out. We should limit our dicussions to strategies on how to get our troops to the polls. Win or loose we will resume fire on the sins of Kerry on Wednesday.

I seriously wonder if the results of those call-in polls are ever aired (outside Kerry circles). I think these are mostly "vanity" polls, and probably serve no purpose other than to collect email addresses to compile spam lists.

But the reported polls are another thing. Everyone should remember that the pollsters don't do polls as a public service, and for free. Someone is paying them for their efforts, and most often that someone is a news service. If the news services have carte blanc abandoned their claim to fairness and objectivity, and are so openly partisan, then do you think they want the polls they pay for to show otherwise? Surely you don't think that the pollsters are going to bite the hand that feeds them. I'm firmly convinced that the polls are every bit as rigged as the news on MSM.

Keep the faith, and quit worrying about the polls.

News Flash!

They have been bombing the polls since the Iraq war began. The DNC and the DU sites have been encouraging that action for months. That is why the immediate polls after the debates were so skewed in favor of Kerry.

I don't buy it and I fully expect Bush to win Tuesday when the real polls open. After his reelection, everyone that voted for him should bomb the networks and their sponsors with emails and letters for their obviously biased attempts to sway the election.

Here's my own personal Wynne poll I took on my way to and from church this a.m. -- Instead of being upset at seeing several kerry bumper stickers and no Bush bumper stickers, it suddenly dawned on me why this is!

The kerry people have no fear that the Bush people will commit an unlawful act upon their kerrybumperstuck vehicles but the Bush people know the Michael Moron kerry supporters are likely to trash their vehicles if they dare advertise for their Guy; ergo, all the vehicles that are bumper-sticker-less are for BUSH! Wink

SO TAKE HEART, ALL -- WE'RE GONNA WYNNE Laughing

Very Happy I can tell you that New Jersey is really up for grabs!!

Several Papers have endorced W which about dropped me on the spot.

Also, a lib paper "poll" {so that's the shock} came out today with a very slim Kerry lead.

The MSM actually gave coverage of W EXTRA TIME!! Now, that's amazing in this state.

I believe that also. I think they are sitting back and refusing the polls. If you read the internals there are many that refuse to comment. That means that when Bush wins by a landslide again the MSM takes the hit for being inaccurate.

polls have always bothered me... they just don't sample enough people...
There is no way to balance all the demographics...

you have party affiliation (Dem, Rep, Green, Libertarian, undeclared)
you have gender
you have age (say <25, 25-45, 45-70, >70) at least 4
you have race (at least 3 main groups, 4 if you count oriental)
you have religion - (athiest, protestant, catholic, jewish, muslim) - 5
you have income - go with 3 brackets -- probably should be more

5 partys X 2 genders X 4 age groups X 3 X5 X3 === 1800 to have one person in each group --- then you'd have to weight the groups --
more Dems & Reps than the others.....

Let alone so many other factors.... military service, military in family, grew up rural, grew up poor, naturalized citizen, etc.....

Strikes me these things can be skewed.....

So, the message is GET OUT AND VOTE AND DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE POLLS....

This includes the exit polls on election night.... One year, I was polled leaving my daughters school that was a polling place -- but not my polling place --- I had voted earlier in the day and had my "I voted" sticker on.... so they we're polling someone from another precinct..... and I refused to answer... told them that was private information.... I know several others that refuse to be polled as well....

Sorry this is getting long... one more thought....

The internals would seem to be better information than the summary number that always gets touted about....

Also, the media wants CLOSE polls, so you keep coming back for updates... they are generating interest in their broadcasts...
