.

One of the members of a Swift Boat discussion group asked the Communist
Party of the USA (CP-USA) why they were supporting John Kerry for President.

The reply he received may be amusing, but it also has its darker side:

CP-USA wrote:

We aren't running a candidate for president this year simply because John
Kerry embodies much of what we believe and wish to accomplish for this
country. Also, the reality is that if Bush is going to be defeated this year,
it will be by Kerry, and it is crucial that we beat Bush.

Bush is a ruling class candidate and we feel there are significant differences
between him and Kerry

For example, You will not hear John Kerry invoke the name of God which
we find repulsive.

Countries in the Middle-East are terrified of Bush and his so-called war on
terrorism. We trust Kerry will not pursue war there and exit Iraq and also
Afghanistan as quickly as possible.

Cuba is worried that if Bush is re-elected, Bush will invade Cuba.

Kerry has pledged to sign a bill legalizing card-check union elections, which
would result in the organization of many million more workers into the labor
movement.

While we disagree with some of Kerry's positions, we aren't indifferent to
the differences between the Republican and Democratic positions and policies.

Republicans completely disagree with our agenda and the Democrats agree.

Also it may interest you to know that Kerry has been endorsed by virtually
all of the communist world to include Cuba, China and Vietnam.

We aren't running national candidates this year for several reasons:

1. Our focus on the defeat (or re-defeat) of Bush. This is the critical task
facing our country.

2. Since we are a small party, we don't want to dissipate our efforts.

3. Over the past decades, many state legislatures have made it more difficult
to get candidates on the ballot-by requiring huge numbers of voter's signatures,
by requiring that anyone who signs a petition to place a "minor" party candidate
on the ballot is thereby ineligible to vote in a major party primary, or requiring
signatures from all counties in a state. The requirements vary from state to state,
but these requirements constitute a significant barrier to ballot access, and
consume huge resources just to get on the ballot in most states.

Thanks for your interest, and I hope this response clarifies our position.

Peace and Socialism,

Marc Brodine

I was going to post a picture of the Communist tribute to Kerry in HCM City

But, as the conventional wisdom states: That would be redundant

How VERY interesting. Look at the "values" statements on that:

"Ruling class" - Kerry's two wives were both "old" money from New England states. His education was financed by the rich relatives he had on his mother's side.

"..no mention of God" - okay, I'm not a bible thumper myself but the core values of all religions teach integrity, honesty, charity. Hmmm, Kerry's buddies find that repulsive.

Not pursue the war on terrorism - nothing needs to be said here.

Cuba? Oh come on, give me a break.

Card-check - hmmm, comorade, you have your papers? Personally, I'm not a fan of labor unions. Yes, they do serve a purpose but the cost/benefit of some of the biggest ones are questionable in my view.

All those wonderful "values" that Kerry has spouted. Welp, they aren't my values and from the tones of this forum, they aren't a majority here.

Is that legit and not a joke of some kind?

I'm asking seriously, if any one knows please do tell.

The thing which confuses me is the phrase 'Ruling Class'.

This is very different from true communist/socialist objectives. This
seems more bent on the goal of seizing power only for powers sake.

I can not imagine how John Kerry is not a member of this same
'ruling class'. This does not make much sense and Mrs. Heinz being
one of the wealthiest 'capitalist' women in the world undermines
the credibility of the statement.

Very, very odd, that one is.
True Democrats need to remember under communism there are no
'minority rights'.

Don't forget that in June 1970 Kerry joined Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), a national veterans group that was part of the Peoples Coalition for Peace and Justice. The PCPJ was a broad coalition of local and national organizations, including the Communist Party, USA. Twisted Evil
