Discuss, will they implode, or split?

They need to concentrate on getting the commies out of their party. Only way they are going to get anywhere from now on.
If they don't clean house, they will continue to lose power. The evil has been exposed enough so that most people can see it now.

The Democratic party is a great party. Unfortunately, it was taken over by the radical left. Now is the time for good honest hearted Democrats to take back their party and see it a great party again.

Never forget, men like Zell Miller, John O'Neill and several others came from the Democrats. It isn't the party that went bad, it was the leadership and radical left that failed both the party and the country.

I agree. I think the "old", main line Democrats need to reclaim their party, or the party will be consigned to the trash heap of history. Time for them to step up and do the needful.

I agree Lew, the demise with the Democratic Party lays at the feet of their "Leadership". Terry McCauliffe needs to get a job flipping burgers somewhere, but I do not see him leaving. With the Clintons and their Crew having the real power in that Party I would be surprised to see any real shift back torwards the center for them.
It is a shame really to see it.

You can pretty much count on them considering the problem is not within the Democratic party. They are in so much denial that it's unbelievable. No they won't change, the liberalism/socialism is deep imbedded within.

I don't think the Dem Party will implode. I really like the Bush ad titled "Wolves". That is how I see the leaders of the Dem Party. I think that they are hiding in the woods licking their wounds and when Mama Shewolf Clinton decides what to do then the attacks will start once again and worse. They have something to prove and us peons have to be punished for our audacity.

Good points all and until the Dems head right of where they are (that is toward the center) they will be irrelevant - as much as the Torries have been in GBritain for 20 years...If I'm a Dem this morning - how can McCauliffe stay? I'd be calling for his head! Maybe some are...but they need visionaries and I don't see many - Obama? Is he their only future star? He's fine and dandy and well spoken, etc. but you need more than one legit voice in a national party.

Personally, I'm not too worried about the Dems...they'll figure it our eventually (say in 30 years) and then they'll be closer to our way of thinking and doing anyhow...and that's ALL GOOD!!!!!!!!

That is the truth and I do hope they take their party back, because the rest of America wants to get back on track and move on. God bless all the dems that came out as mentioned above. I pray their will be good leadership and that the once great party has a come back and we can have a cohesiveness in our country. God bless America.

I agree also. The Democratic Party used to have some great ideals, great ambitions, and even though I'm a Republican, they had veiwpoints with merit and perspectives which I admired. I hope the Democrates get it together and go back to the point where their party really stands for something constructive rather than simply being destructive. Back to a place where we are all Americans first, and smile when you say that, doggone it!

They split ... part of the Clinton master plan, IMHO.
They'll "dump" the remainder of the seriously visible liberals: Ted Kennedy is retiring when his term is up.

More on the future of the Dems - notice the reference to Obama here, and Jesse Jackson's comment: "Democrats must be a 50-state national party, not a 17-state party." As I said earlier in this string, they're going to need more than one legit voice in the party. There is this article, Let Obama's Shining Light Lead the Way for Us All, from Mary Mitchell of the Chicago Sun Times.

As an aside, I think it's quite ironic that the only rising star in the Dems has only a one letter difference in his name from our mortal enemy - anyhow... Rolling Eyes
