NOTE:: This post contains no flaming, obscenities, or intended disrespect. If offended please let me know.
Maybe I'm young and naive. Maybe I'm just plain stupid. But I thought that war heroes were anyone who fought for this country. No one can deny John Kerry fought in Vietnam, regardless of his actions. No one can deny he received the medals he earned. Likewise, no one has record of Bush fighting in a war.
I'm in now way trying to support Kerry. I don't like the guy! I'm merely saying, as the relative of a Vietnam vet, I find it distressing to speak out against him for his role in Vietnam.
EVERYONE WHO FIGHTS FOR OUR COUNTRY IS A HERO!! The point is to support our troops...not make a joke of their heroism.
Respect our heroes. Disagree with their politics. But why thrash someone's duty to our country.
Consider the messages your sending to all generations.
Thank you and God Bless.
PS - Please don't delete me for my little bit of rebuttal. America, the America many of the forum User's fought for, respects dissent. |

Please see the thread already established with a nearly identical premise and post your thoughts to that thread:
