I'm curious, do any of the folks running this organization read this message board?

I run a fairly popular political weblog, and while I am politically independent by nature and have often supported Democrats, I do support Bush for re-election. Just in case anyone wants to know my biases. Even if I didn't, however, the Swift Boat Vets allegations are of interest to me, and I've been rather astounded with how fast negative accusations against them have come out, even though I've been aware of you guys for quite some time and am surprised you're only getting attention now (well, not totally surprised--one advertisement can garner a lot more attention than several press conferences).

My father (well, my stepfather) is a decorated combat veteran of Vietnam and he is very supportive of you guys. Indeed he was one of the first to tell me about you. So I'm definitely interested.

Still, on many other sites, there is a raging debate where a lot of accusations about the group and its funding and contradictory things its members have supposedly said. I'm wondering if there are specific answers available in one place. For example, the left-wing group "Media Matters" has made a number of allegations, and while they may be left-wing this does not mean they are making up their information.

Is there anywhere that specific accusations are being refuted? Or where the source of the Swift Vets' funding may be learned?

I was also wondering if it would be possible to get an interview with one of the group's leaders?

As to the organization, it's my understanding that, as a 527, all of it's funding is public knowledge (I expect MY name will be up in lights soon as well

As to whether the actual signers read this forum? I would hope they do, but we have no way of knowing as they have not identified themselves to us nor is it necessary. Also, please be aware that none of the forum team are Swiftvets ourselves, so approaching us for inside poop is pointless.

As to "allegations" by left-wing groups about this organization? Well, try tossing one out there and you'll get a bite...maybe a BIG bite. Nothing official of course, but I'll bet damned informed.
