In this months edition of NewsMax, January 2005, page 8, an article suggests that Kerry, is possibly entertaining the idea of bringing a libel suit against Mr. O'Neill. Wouldn't this be just wonderful? Perhaps some of our members who are in the legal profession can shed some light on the possible consequences of this type of suit. I'm curious.

Kerry has a couple of problems with a lawsuit. First there is the possibility of political damage. Secondly, he would need to get the best judge Teresa could buy. Both stem from the same cause; he would have to make the case that O'Neill made false comments about his record while trying to keep a portion of his records secret. A third point is that while they would have representation, I think O'Neill is a much better attorney than Kerry.

If Kerry sues I will contribute to O'Neill's defense fund. He could then demand that the records be brought into court. I really think this is only window dressing, even he couldn't be that stupid.

Kerry keeps pulling this stunt to make it appear as though he is the victim and is above the accusations. I just wish the Swift Boat & POW Veterans would take him up on his empty threats and file their motion first.
