I just found this story on the Yahoo list of featured stories. The
nerve of these liberals to find fault with President Bush for doing
what has been a traditional practice in DC for years. They do
mention that in the story, but you have to read much further than
the first paragraph to find it. Terry McAwful is the best example
of Bill Clinton's rewarding his friends with a powerful position in
return for his fund-raising prowess. He's still in that position, even
though he has been a miserable failure at it in every way other than
fund-raising. Maybe President Bush has invited former fund-raisers
to the White House or Camp David, but it is well documented that
Clinton allowed people he hardly knew to spend nights in the Lincoln
bedroom - for a price. It was done to get them to donate, not as a
thank you for a donation they had already made! Check out the

Betcha would'a seen all of sKerry's "band of brothers" with appointments if he had won.

The rules of the game are (and have been, for 40 years)

(a) if you are a 'liberal', you're supposed to appoint friends and contributors.
(b) if you are a 'conservative', you can only appoint people you've never heard of.
