I doubt if the metropolis of Mulberry will win this one.

Isn't that where Andy Griffin is the sheriff?

They are a small town, and that can work to their advantage because they can fly under the radar without much exposure. Only one problem. While I was in a Mcdonalds in that part of the state recently, I just happened to be reading the newspaper and saw the story. I am going to give this as much exposure as I can.

This will wind up costing the city of Mulberry thousands of dollars and embarrassment, if its not settled out of court!
When Clinton was president he passed, with executive order, a domestic violence regulation that basically forbids anyone "CONVICTED" of domestic violence from owning a firearm. It was even retroactive, so someone convicted of a misdemeanor domestic violence, even cops were no longer allowed to have a firearm in their possession. A lot of cops lost their job. I think its still in effect!
But the person has to be charged, go to court, and be convicted.
Just because police responded to a domestic violence call and charged no one is irrelevant, they may have just been yelling at each other.
There has to be physical harm to cause an arrest of one or both parties. The senior officer at the scene makes the decision, and everyone else must live with it. If he didn’t get arrested and charged he’s innocent, period.

GIVE HIM HIS JOB BACK WITH BACK PAY AND A BIG OLD APOLOGY!

I like the way the mayor assumes that a domestic disturance must result in an arrest. If an arrest was made on every domestic disturbance call there would be a boom in the jail building business. The fact he let it be known that he was a cop does not prevent his estranged wife from filing charges. This mayor is simply trolling for excuses to back up his action. It's pretty typical of small town politics, a politician does something wrong and rather than admit to a mistake he will spend thousands of city dollars to get out of having to admit he was wrong.

Andy Griffith was the sheriff of Mayberry, a fictional town in North Carolina, if memory serves right.

I can't help but wonder what this Mayor is hiding. Is he a Democrat by any chance?

This really has me steamed!!! Mad Mad I hope the email I sent the Honorable Mr. Sh**head reaches him:

'If you're so 'patriotic', when he was called up, why didn't you step in and say: "Oh, no, Officer Cunningham, you stay here in the safety of the fiefdom I'm trying to create and I'll take your place in Iraq."

GIVE THE MAN HIS DAMNED JOB BACK!!!!!! Along with an apology, back pay, and a bonus. Better that than have Mayberry RFD go into receivership! Don't hold out too much hope of winning this one, Mr. 'Mayor.'

How many votes did you have to buy to get into office?'

I don't ordinarilly write in this tone or use language like that (but I'm no angel, either) but this one is just beyond comprehension. Evil or Very Mad Mad Evil or Very Mad Mad
