Last week, I was so busy with the end of the semester chaos, I did
not get to watch Dr. Phil. I recorded it and was just now able to
view his three-part Christmas Party for the families of US Marines
stationed at Camp Pendleton who are now deployed to Iraq. During
the shows, he, Robin, and other celebrity guests were very politically
incorrect in their unabashed support for the troops and their families.
The children were so adorable, well-behaved, and so strong in their
love and support for their deployed daddies and one mommy. The
clips of the soldiers and messages from those who could not get to
a satellite were heart-warming. The children were overjoyed and
thankful for the gifts they received, but the one wish they all had
was that their parent would come home safely. He also had a party
in the studio for the parents of the children and others with deployed
loved ones where they received "adult" gifts that were especially
suitable for people in their situation. They were great shows and a
good time was had by all, including me!

But of course... Dr. Phil is from Tulsa. Need I say more?
