I have come to the conclusion that there is something toxic in the water
in Massachusetts. How else can you explain the brain-damaged voters
who continue to support these idiot politicians and journalists??

DEMOCRATS' DEPRESSING DENIAL

February 1, 2005 -- THE K&K boys — Ted Kennedy and John Kerry — find themselves even further out in left field than usual when it comes to Sunday's extraordinarily successful elections in Iraq.
Most Democrats were smart enough to appreciate (publicly, at least) that the waves of jubilant Iraqis who defied the terrorists to vote represented a significant political challenge.

Of course, few Dems would admit that the election effectively justified President Bush's policies — particularly, the decision to topple Saddam in the first place. Most, in fact, followed the lead of their Senate chief, Harry Reid of Nevada, who yesterday hailed the vote, but called on Bush to provide, in his State of the Union Address tomorrow night, "an exit strategy so that we know what victory is and how we can get there; so that we know what we need to do and so that we know when the job is done."

That stance is strategically problematic: Reid is basically demanding that the president set an expiration date for Operation Iraqi Freedom — a gift to the terrorists. But Reid's tack is high statesmanship compared to what issued from Kerry and Kennedy.

Kerry, in his first broadcast interview since losing last November, suggested that there was something illegitimate about the election because the turnout in some areas wasn't even larger.

And, he warned, "no one in the United States should overhype this election."

Which makes you wonder just what — short of the kind of craven U.S. bugout he prescribed for Vietnam — Kerry would deem an important development.

After all, the point of the war was to begin pushing the Arab Middle East out of its dead-end rut of tyranny and the export of terror. And Iraqis made a huge step forward in that regard Sunday — in an election that many on the left predicted (and, no doubt, privately hoped) would be a failure.

Kennedy, meanwhile, stuck by his pre-election demand for immediate U.S. withdrawal — and even refused to term the voting a success, saying Bush "must look beyond the election" and "demonstrate to the Iraqi people that we have no long-term design on their country."

Even after the most significant political development in Iraq since the invasion, Kerry and Kennedy couldn't summon the grace to acknowledge progress.

Millions of Iraqis, many at grave personal risk, turned out to vote. That is, a clear majority of the Iraqi people on Sunday endorsed America's vision of their future — and in so doing sanctified the sacrifices so many young Americans have made on their behalf.

This was a stunning repudiation of the terrorists — and a signal moment in the eternal quest for human freedom. The Kerry-Kennedy failure to recognize that illustrates their personal moral myopia — while the Democratic Party's failure to celebrate it demonstrates its institutional lack of ethical bearings.

Howard Dean seems set to become chairman of the Democratic National Committee — but it might as well be Michael Moore.

The party has no legitimate claim on the attention of serious people.
It's that simple.

It's not only the K&K boys -- then there is the deranged columnists at the Boston Globe.

The totally unhinged James Carroll:--"An Arab nation is humiliated. Islamic hatred of the West is ignited. The American military is emasculated" WHAAAAAT????
Boston Globe

And the always smug and prissy Thomas Oliphant:--"The biggest threat stems from the huge, omnipresent, overwhelming presence of the US military as an occupying force"
Boston Globe

Bush should have went to congress and made them declare war on the Wahabi sect of Islam, but that was politically incorrect. Cannot have a religous crusade. As such there are no sedition laws during a time of war in place and Kerry, Boxer, Kennedy and all the journalists can actively work against Americas interests without any repercussion.

Teddy and Johnny, sit down, shut up, and pay attention. We have an exit strategy. We will leave when the war on terror is over. Since you can’t recognize the war on terror, we understand you won’t know when it is over. Standby, we will inform you when it is over.

Very Happy I'm going to steal that line of logic from you, for use on people in the Boulder, Colorado area here (Ward Churchill supporters).

I second that. Nice logic LimaCharlie.

'...Harry Reid of Nevada...called on Bush to provide..."an exit strategy so that we know what victory is...'

I think Harry Reid has been breathing in the dry desert dust for so long, one drink of water will turn him into mud. He has the terminology 'exit strategy' and 'victory' reversed. How can you 'exit' one day, and declare 'victory' the next? Did the U.S. leave Japan and three months later drop the bomb? When he first came on the scene after dittering Daschle's defeat, I held out hope that both sides would move toward the middle and something could be accomplished. But now each time he opens his mouth, he confirms his brain molecules have been microwaved on Hi for 5 minutes.

I think there should be an exit strategy for Harriet Reid.
