Lloyd Grove's Lowdown
Dems going nuclear over book's Iran claim

After their bitter campaign 2004 experience with the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, John Kerry and his fellow Dems aren't waiting to be shot at again.
Yesterday, aides to Sens. Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Ted Kennedy jumped all over literary mugger Jerome Corsi, co-author of the Kerry-bashing best seller "Unfit for Command."

They knocked him to the ground and kicked him in the face (metaphorically, anyway) over his next Democrattrashing tome, "Atomic Iran: How the Terrorist Regime Bought the Bomb and American Politicians."

The book - which Nashville's Cumberland House Publishing won't release till next month - claims Democratic pols are being corrupted by Iranian money and helping the nuke-seeking mullahs in Tehran.

But Kerry spokesman David Wade told me yesterday: "I doubt anyone who isn't wearing a tin-foil hat will take their foreign-policy cues from a proven liar who became infamous smearing the Pope, Catholics, Jews and Vietnam veterans."

Kennedy aide Stephanie Cutter piled on. "You have to ask yourself: Does Mr. Corsi really believe the stuff he writes, and if so, shouldn't he get some professional help?"

"Who's Corsi's co-author this time - Jeff Gannon?" scoffed Biden aide Norm Kurz, referring to the fake-named Talon News reporter who haunted the White House press room.

Sen. Clinton's press secretary, Philippe Reines, echoed: "Sounds like another work of fiction."

Corsi is notorious for outrageous broadsides. He once called Hillary Clinton a "fat hog." He mused about Kerry: "After he married TerRAYsa, didn't John Kerry begin practicing Judiasm?"

He derided Islam as "a worthless, dangerous Satanic religion." And he slammed Pope John Paul: "Boy-buggering in both Islam and Catholicism is okay with the Pope, as long as it isn't reported by the liberal press."

Yesterday Corsi told me: "Yes, I was trying to be provocative, but those are out-ofcontext statements, and I have apologized to anyone who was offended."

But Corsi refused to provide me with galleys of his book, saying that with the publication date a month away, it was way too early for publicity. But my colleague Richard Sisk of the Daily News Washington bureau, obtained the galleys.

Sisk sent a summary: "Fellow named Hassan Nemazee apparently is the archfiend of Corsi's plot. ... Nemazee evilness connector supposedly is something called the American Iranian Council, for which he used to be a board member.

"Page 255 says: 'Hassan Nemazee ... one of John Kerry's top fund-raisers in his 2004 presidential campaign, was a board member of the AIC. Nemazee funded a long list of Democratic party candidates. ... At every event where Democratic candidates have been present, the AIC has been certain to press its agenda to restore economic and diplomatic ties between Iran and the United States."

But it turns out that Nemazee served on the AIC board with respected academics, former Sen. Bennett Johnston (D-La.), Halliburton CEO David Lesar and a former vice chairman of ChevronTexaco, among other worthies.

Yesterday Nemazee - a wealthy Manhattan financier, U.S. citizen and Democratic Party donor who was Kerry's New York fund-raising chairman - told me that Corsi is risking a slander suit if the book says he's an agent of the Iranian government.

"The concept that I'm a shill for the mullahs flies in the face of reality," said Nemazee, whose family fled Iran after the fall of the shah. "I haven't been back for 26 years, and everything I had was confiscated by them. It is patently ludicrous."

He added: "I wouldn't trust the mullahs as far as I could throw them. My belief is that the Iranian government is trying to obtain nuclear capability and will do whatever it takes."

How much difference is there between Nemazee's views and President Bush's?

"Not a lot," he answered.

Corsi, meanwhile, plans to relocate from New Jersey to Massachusetts to establish residency and run for Senate against Kerry in 2008.

Ordered my copy tonite!
The more the "leftist", "liberals", "progressives", "socialists", "commies" (you pick the one you like) scream about something...the more there must be some truth to it.
If this book is half as good as Unfit For Command was...Look Out!!!

Kerry to receive personalized 'Atomic Iran'
Book with special message will be delivered via eBay bidder
March 4, 2005
Quote:
John Kerry is about to receive his own personalized copy of the latest book by nemesis Jerome Corsi, co-author of "Unfit for Command" and planned opponent for the former presidential candidate's Massachusetts senatorial seat.

Corsi said a pair of pre-publication, finished copies of his upcoming release "Atomic Iran" are for sale on eBay today, with instructions to the buyer to keep one and send the other to Kerry.

The copy for Kerry bears a hand-written message on the title page: "For Senator John F. Kerry – Looking forward to our first debate in Mass. [Signed] Jerome R. Corsi. 3/3/05."

The second copy will be autographed to the winning bidder when payment is received.

Corsi said he still plans to take up residence in Boston this spring as the first step of a plan to run against Kerry in 2008.

He came up with the eBay idea after the popular auction site featured a paperback, galley version of "Atomic Iran" to the highest bidder.

"I thought it was a good way to get the book to Senator Kerry and to let him know that I'm coming," Corsi said.

If you go to the link, you can see the image of Corsi's note to Kerry. I tried to post it , but it shows up way too huge.

Gotta hand it to Corsi, he sure is getting right in Kerry's face Wink

For a good many years here in Texas, the Democrat Primary was essentially the General Election in Texas. Mainly because of the harsh Reconstruction days with the Carpet Baggers and etc.

I am not sure if Mass. is about the same way with regards to the Senate elections.

Is Corsi planning to run in the Demo Primary in Mass???

Oh this is rich! Kurz's boss blew his chance at the Presidency because he didn't credit a co-author. People who live in glass houses and all that.

Rather(not) and (S)Hillary will have to have a "joint" news conference where they will reveal that not only was Rove in on this but they have "documents" showing that Haliburton was the organization that funded this with the strongarm tactics of Cheney and Rumsfeld putting on the pressure...
The rumor of a picture circulating with Rather(not) showcasing the latest Victoria Secrects on his head while (S)Hillary stands by witha cig in her mouth and a leash in hand have been grossly exaggerated from what I hear too.
