Quote:
“Kerry: Don’t tell me what God wants,” by Noelle Straub, BostonHerald – 4/21/05
(emphasis added)
WASHINGTON - Sen. John F. Kerry yesterday attacked Republicans for having an “orthodoxy of view”' and overly inserting religion into politics, accusing them of using God as a justification for appointing conservative judges.

I am sick and tired of a bunch of people trying to tell me that God wants a bunch of conservative judges on the court and that's why we have to change the rules of the United States Senate,'' Kerry told a group of Bay State residents who traveled to Capitol Hill for U.S. Rep. Martin Meehan's annual legislative seminar. The Bay State senator was referring to a possible GOP move to alter Senate rules that would prevent Democrats from filibustering President Bush's judicial nominees.

I am sick and tired of (them saying) they somehow have a better understanding of Christianity, of the Judeo-Christian ethic, of values,'' Kerry added. “We're talking about values? You show me where in the New Testament Jesus ever talked about the value of having taxes and taking money from poor people to give to the rich people in this country.”

The Bay State senator added that the Christian values and Catholic church he grew up with “was a church of universality and understanding and true freedom of conscience”' and that there was never this kind of “imposition of values” into politics.

Quoting the Biblical line that “faith without works is dead,” Kerry cited budget cuts to schools, literacy programs and Medicaid as distorted values.

If he is so admittedly sick and tired, I suggest he retire immediately – I think he can afford it… What does he mean about his church teaching him “freedom of conscience?” (it is apparent that he has been free of his conscience for a very long, long time). I am not Catholic. Is this truly a teaching of the church?

I just wince (should be immune by now, but I’m not…) when I hear all this talk about “values” coming from a selfish user and abuser of his fellow man .. a man whose values embrace and condone his lying and dishonor and traitorous deeds for which he has no remorse whatsoever.

Apparently John-boy hasn't heard of tithing. Jesus wants 10%.
No wonder he doesn't like religion. No writeoffs on tithes. Just
fork it over.

Maybe old Johnny Boy missed all the outcry and dismay expressed this week by his cohorts over the selection of the new Pope?

LOL, the first thing that came to my mind reading the "I'm sick and tired" tirade was remembering Hitlery's tirade last year. Don't tell me he is going to start imitating her now Rolling Eyes

"Freedom of Conscience"? It's the battle-cry of the cafeteria Catholic...and the free lunch sign is being taken down.

Wait a sec.

For Silky Pony to have "Freedom of Conscience" wouldn't he first have to HAVE a conscience?

John Kerry:

What the Catholic Church teaches is the words of Jesus, "Whatever you do unto the least of these you do unto Me." So john it sounds like if it were up to you, you would have supported Mary getting an abortion.

I don't know where he got this" freedom of conscience" crap, but it certainly wasn't from a Catholic Church. Then again, this is the same guy who had his 12 year marriage annuled which in essence makes it a marriage that never existed. I am sure his two kids are happy to know that they are illegitimate as long as daddy can "free his conscience".

The Catholic Church taught me that the New Testament gave us two new commandments to live by which are to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and Soul" and "Love your neighbor as yourself".

They also taught me the Golden Rule which is "Do onto others as you would have others do onto you".

Obviously Kerry has never lived by the basic foundations of the Catholic Church.
