And to think there was a time I used to listen to his music. Even met him once. Some of my long time friends still think he's the greatest. Now as I am older I just can't stand to hear a single note. I gave the CDs away and turn him off every time I hear or see him. I do hope all of these 'entertainers' suffer from lack of product and concert sales by alienating 50% of America - those of us that now refuse to support their lifestyle any longer.

from Drudge:

Quote:
Springsteen chose to be fairly economical with his comments between songs, although he did call for "a humane immigration policy" before playing the new "Matamoros Banks," lambaste the "dinosaur" mentality of the Bush administration (before "Part Man, Part Monkey") and talk about drifting away from the Catholic church (as a prelude to the new "Jesus Was An Only Son" ), among other ramblings. He ad-libbed a "That's right" after one audience member yelled "(Expletive) the president" at one point.

I recall watching Bruce at the Satellite Lounge in Wrightstown, NJ in the early seventies for a $3.00 cover charge with two drinks included. I left halfway thru the show and never listened to his music again. During the Kerry run at the Whitehouse when he was giving free concerts I remember thinking people were overpaying to hear him the same as I did in 1973.

Cool Cool Cool

I feel the same way. During the 80's, I totally loved Springsteen and seen him several times in concert. I even loved Born in the USA and I guess I didn't know what it really meant. Now that I'm older and have an understanding of politics, I now know what he's been singing about for all these years.

I turn him off whenever he comes on. OK, if Born to run comes on I may listen to that because it's a fun song.

As I get older and disgusted with the political nature of todays performers, solace is at hand with Strauss 'The Blue Danube', Beethovens ' The Moonlight Sonata' or De Bussey's 'Claire De Lune'.

I am getting to the point where all I listen to is the great composers.

My cousin's son is into some kind of music that sounds like my granddaughter (2 years old) playing with pots and pans in the kitchen. A lot of the music out now, in my opinion, stinks. Sounds put together but not worth listening to. Springsteen never rang my chimes either. I agree with GenrXr.
