The strange thing about sheepdogs (I'm on my second one) is how they become worse than the wolf for exactly the amount of time needed to protect the 'sheep' (my wife and granddaughter, precisely), then revert back to being cute and fuzzy. What's even stranger is that my dog and I don't find that strange at all.

That article has changed my way of looking at my liberal family. I sent it to them and said I thought I was multi-colored sheep who wished she were a sheepdog and none of them will even read it. How do you open anyone's eyes when they are that closed?

I don't know Navy wife.
Like the people on the Gulf coast with a cat 5 storm bearing down on them and they refuse to leave their homes in spite of the potential for losing their lives.
I guess there are just some people that can't be reached. Sad, very sad but it seems to be the way life is.
I don't think there is an answer to your question. At least I've never seen a satisfactory one. Perhaps someone here can enlighten both of us.
I have some family members with the same closed minds so I can empathize with you and I'm sure everyone here probably has some of their family with totally closed minds also.
I never cease to marvel at that. A complete lack of common sense in one particular area in a normally sensible person and a flat refusal to even consider they may be wrong or examine other points of view. ??

Seems that this very same group was asking that very same question exactly one year ago. Same phenomena, same results, same reason...

I wish I knew what could be done about it.

Thanks for sharing this--I had looked at Bill Whittle's site a few weeks ago to see if he had anything new and at that time, this wasn't posted yet, so I was very pleasantly surprised to see this new phenomenally written essay! Also, it just came in VERY handy after a friend emailed me a copy of Michael Moore's latest open letter to the people who voted for Bush. I just responded to the email with his essay. What a great answer to that tripe! Very Happy
