Thanks becca.
My best wishes to everyone for today also.
The pilgrems did a good, good thing when they decided to have a day of thanksgiving and have a big meal to celebrate.

I got my loose clothes on.

A weary and discouraged John Adams, tired of dealing with matters of the yet to be defined United States of America, wrote to his wife, Abigail, in 1777:

"Is it not intollerable, that the opening Spring, which I should enjoy with my Wife and Children upon my little Farm, should pass away, and laugh at me, for labouring, Day after Day, and Month after Month, in a Conclave, Where neither Taste, nor Fancy, nor Reason, nor Passion, nor Appetite can be gratified?

"Posterity! You will never know, how much it cost the present Generation, to preserve your Freedom! I hope you will make a good Use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven, that I ever took half the Pains to preserve it."

We are Adams' posterity. We are, to the best of our abilities and against great odds, trying to preserve Freedom.

A very Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I too add my Happy Thanksgiving to one and all here.

While we enjoy our families and friends today, let's take a moment and also give thanks to those who cannot be with their families on this day. We should feel great pride that we have many people today who willingly gave up their Holiday to stand ready to defend the freedoms we enjoy and others desire.

Thank you too all our troops, wherever you are today.

I'm thankful for simple pleasures that make life so rich.

God & Country
family & family life
good friends
a warm fire
fresh baked bread
the scent of alfalfa
a faithful dog
old barns
new born calves
open fields
mourning doves
woodlands
streams and rivers
woolly bear caterpillars
the creak of an old screen door

I'm thankful that I am able to live in freedom, where I am free to live and work and worship according to the dictates of my own conscience, and where others, who believe differently, are free to do the same.

I'm thankful for all those who are willing to serve to protect those freedoms, both here at home, and abroad, in times of peace, as well as war, wherever they may be asked to go, risking all, for their fellowman.

Happy Thanksgiving!

An Old southrern prayer...handed down to me...

Father,
In this time of harvest,
we give thanks to you for all of the blessings
bestowed upon us through your grace.

Keep us and protect us.

And bless this food to the nourishment of our bodies.

Amen.

I am thankful to be an American and give thanks for our providence as a nation who serves God. It is important to think about the role our faith plays on thanksgiving. Without a belief in God the pilgrims would of been crazy French benthamites thinking only of themselves as opposed to sitting down to a table and sharing their food. Although to share food and bounty has always been an American trait, we must also remember that it is used against us by the lunatic communists whom play on our giving to separate us not only from God but our fellow man.

So on this day lets think of not only God and our thanks for the providence we enjoy, let us thank our military for keeping us safe and Wal-Mart for giving us cheap stuff we really can use and their miracle of keeping Mississippi and Louisiana functioning as states during the Katrina debacle.

I just love Wal-Mart. I have consolidated my black friday shopping to only there.

I am thankful for so many things I think it would overload the site to put the whole list here so I'll just say

Thank you GOD for letting me be born and for letting me be an American.
