Democrat's recent buzz word is to call Republicans "corrupt" pointing fingers at "this administration" of course. Nancy Paloci is very fond of calling Republicans "corrupt". But will Democrats fall in the Abramoff net?

http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2006/1/3/115231.shtml?s=et

A brief quote from the link above...

"But it turns out that the most prominent player in Abramoff's web of influence was reportedly none other than the Senate's top Democrat, Harry Reid.

In a little-noticed story in November, The Associated Press revealed that Reid had accepted tens of thousands of dollars from an Abramoff client, the Coushatta Indian tribe, after interceding with Secretary of the Interior Gail Norton over a casino dispute with a rival tribe. "

Term limits...now.

It's the only answer I can think of to strike at the heart of political corruption and save us from ourselves. We need to take the "Career" out of "Career Politician"...at least on the national level.

How many other Abramoff types are there?? This is in no small way a result of McCain-Feingold which has gummed up the works. Time to repeal that as well. Jesse Unruh of California said, " Money is the mother's milk of politics." It's true and so be it. What is needed is full disclosure, not more stupid limits and regulations. McCain, of the 'Keating Five', should be more astute and less self aggrandizing. His Reform Institute isn't so pure either with it's Soros money.

One article I read said there could be as many as four dozen people implicated in this, FROM BOTH PARTIES!

Of course, our leftstream media will only mention one party and poo poo allegations against the other.

Yes, term limits need to be in place, after Congress is cleaned out. Along with that, is fair and accurate release of past matters that have been swept under the rug. Full and complete release of the Barrett Report would be a good start, but we know that the Democrats are tying that one up or at least trying to squelch many pages that would bring political harm to their favorite boy and girl, the Clintons!

Term Limits!

Whenever I think of term limits two people really stand out in my mind. Fred Thompson of Tennessee and JC Watts of Oklahoma. They both term limited themselves.

What is sad is how much they are needed on the Hill, yet the very reason they are needed is why they are missing.

We need people of greater character running for office. As Machievelli pointed out the strength of a Nation lies in the character of its leaders as opposed to their manipulations. If only he was able to live to see the day when Reagan would become president. Reagan was the person Machievelli dreamed of to restore Italys greatness, yet noone rose to the challenge.

Leftists will never understand two things, Reagan and The Prince. A Rice (the souths Harvard) PHD professor in political something or the other once told me The Prince is about the manipulation of people to achieve an end and its absolute necessity. My reply of 'you shouldn't be teaching students the inside of double bubble gum wrapper' almost drew a fistfight with 2 groupies sitting next to him, yet the professor stopped them and asked me what was his meaning?

Of course my father schooled me well in the process of Socratic instruction, so upon his question I asked "why would the US Navy require BUDS to read the Prince upon competion of Hell Week and then write a short essay on its meaning?" (I do not know for certain that this is done, but have heard it takes place)

His reply (love how he has the answer to everything) was something along the lines of these young kids are about to wake up to a wicked world and the government is preparing them for the ruthlessness of it and the necessary measures which must be taken in order to survive. Blah, Blah, Blah... Typical sophistry babble came out of his mouth for about 5 minutes, to which I asked "Is it not possible that what the Navy is doing is a physchological profile of the individual to see whether he has the ability to carry out the mission, character to follow orders and live by them and the character to leave the Navy and be a good citizen? To be able to do these things honorably for the Navy then return to society as a functioning contributor to our country after his time as a warrior?

A glaze came over his eyes and he told me what a young idealist I was. "Sorry professor, but you are the idealist who is too self-absorbed to think logically. You are looking at a realist and how sad it is when our country has people such as yourself teaching the young and dumb."

Ok, Repubicans have a narrow majority in both House and Senate. If we "clean out" congress the Democrats gain power. All this corruption talk and legal action against anyone that is a Republican are on target becauseof for the up coming elections.

Democrats want to regain the majority. I am not going to agree that we need to 'clean house" in the house and senate. We need to go after crime anywhere it is. But it has to be nonpartisan. I will not play into the Democrats hands by jumping on their bandwagon. The media and the Democrats are only looking for Republicans.

As a conservative it is an absolute we must stand on principle and what is best for our countries future. To be frank the republicans have not been good leaders and if they must fall let them. The Democrats are communists now, yet the public knows this and they are sick of both parties. I say let the chips fall and we play it out. I have great confidence in ordinary Americans to do the right thing when pressed. I remain optimistic.

Absolutely we must stand on principle. But, what I am saying is, don't jump on the media bandwagon and the liberal bandwagon CLAIMING Republicans are corrupt. I do not believe the hype. To win an election the Democrats will CLAIM a lot of things then after the election it will all come out it was only accusations. I will not let the media and the Democrats dictate to me to believe that my elected officals are corrupt on their saying it it so.

I have seen that the Democrats are going to use the "Republicans are corrupt" mantra leading uap to the elections. Harry Reid and Nancy Paloci have been beating the word "corrupt" to death for several months. I know they were setting the stage for accusation after accusation. Accusations cannot be defended against. People will believe what they believe. A lot of people believe that politicians are corrupt, and expecting them to fall. I am not going to believe it until it is proven by a string of facts or a confession. And by facts I don't mean media reports. I mean proven facts by events.

Just for clarification, when I said "clean house," I am saying whoever from either party that has engaged in illegal activity must go.

Of course, this begs the question as to whether the 'investigation' will be performed properly or just another with hunt.

I don't feel party affiliation should grant anyone a pass to illegal activity.

If a Republican ends up ousted, it doesn't necessarily mean a Democrat automatically moves in to fill the seat. But, we the people, need to make sure dirty Democrats are exposed as well as dirty Republicans since the leftstream media won't do it.

To paraphrase a politically incorrect motto I first saw 35+ years ago:

Then we agree. We need to be careful not to fan the witch hunt atmosphere. Illegal is Illegal and should be dealt with on an equal footing of facts not party. The media won't do it that way though. It is alternative Conservative Media that is bringing out the Harry Reid connection. All that is heard on the msm is that Republicans will fall.

A host of Democrats are in this including Dorgan, Levin and Harkin as well as Daschle before he was dumped. There may not be dirt just by affiliation with Abramoff, but if there is, it is shared by Democrats.

I seem to recall Clinton/Gore was involved in shaking down indian tribes, not to mention buddhist temples.

Harry Reid was a Gaming Commissioner in the '70s....whaddaya think?

Both Dem's and Rep's will take hits on this.

John (did I tell you I was a POW) McCain is being credit for revealing Abramoff in his committee. I gotta figure it's because he wasn't getting his beak wet. Everyone else before a John (did I tell you I was a POW) McCain committee contributes to his PACs.

Hey, Capt McQueeg, did you ever have any dealings with a guy by the name of Charles Keating?? Why is George Soros a supporter of your so called Reform Institute and what is your connection to him??? What makes you so damned clean, a bill that restricted my 1st Amendment rights???

Does your former POW status justify your self serving political manipulations? How??

GM,

It's only fair to tell you I've met and talked with Charles (call me Charlie) Keating my fellow Phoenician more than a few times. He'l gladly tell you he didn't get what he paid for.
