A friend dragged me to see "Brokeback Mountain" or Humpback Mountain or whatever it was. Here is my review: If this is the critic's choice as best movie of 2005, you know the year was truly p**s poor for film. There was nothing special as far as I am concerned with this film from the standpoint of plot, acting, photography, ecetera. I've seen episodes of "24", "Lost" and "Law and Order" far more engrossing and they didn't cost me $8 to see to boot!

I had a conversation with my older brother yesterday and argued 24 and Lost are better then anything Hollywood has created since Forest Gump. I said you have to go back almost 30 years to the period when Ridley Scott made Alien and Blade Runner to see true genious filming, since then we have had Forest Gump.

Furthermore, how is it a leftist such as Ridley Scott makes such great films yet other leftist cannot? Well it is because he is a great filmmaker and even he has suffered from the company he keeps. He had a string of failures after Blade Runner most notable GI Jane, before he got rid of te sycophants and made a movie called Gladiator.

Artists should concetrate on art and not social engineering.

24 and Lost do have their liberal social experimentational BS, but are by far the best filming being done in Hollywood today.

24 example 1: Season 3 During the hotel lockdown they advise death pills for people suffering from the virus.

24 example 2: Season 4 Edgar the geek programmer wants his mother to commit suicide rather then die of radiation sickness.

Point being there is a pro-euthanasia point that noone has realized (yes, I take notes while watching movies), yet hardly worth condemning an otherwise brilliant and cathartic movie film experience. Yes 24 is in my opinion a direct to TV Motion Picture. How can you view it as anything else? Each episode of 24 is better then 99.99 percent of the movies shown at theaters for the last 30 years. Lost is also truly great. Not as good as 24, but better then 99.90 percent of the movies over the last 30 years.

Brokeback Mountain is unfortunately just another terrible movie which recieved accolades for its message as opposed to any cathartic reaction from viewing it.

Sad, but this is why games sold to kids bring in more money then the traditional entertainment industry.

Hollyweird and TV networks try to normalize deviant behavior to make it acceptable. Their agenda is to destroy all semblence of morality in our society, but I don't know why. They abandoned their long-successful aproach of subtlety, for blatant anti-Christianity in TV's "The Book of Daniel" and it backfired badly and outed them... They must be very sure of themselves with this queer cowboy deal...Just look at how the critics are gushing over it.

It's about sheepherders right. Not cowboys. I have no intention or reason for seeing Butt**** Mountain.

No. You are thinking about a Ted Kennedy movie "Cape Cod Orca".

Don't forget "Stargate SG-1." So good that in one episode, the head of the U.S. Air Force played himself.

As Teal'c would say, "Indeed."

Since we're chunking names around, I like E-Ring a lot.
Keifer makes '24' special but the infighting within the agency turns me off. If the real agency operates like that, we don't stand a chance of stopping terrorists.

There was never any danger of my money getting paid to see the above mentioned movie.

OK, I'm addicted to violent Japanese anime. (Well it's better than most
of the stuff on the networks that I don't watch) There are only two live
action shows that I record: "Battlestar Galactica" and "My Name Is Earl".
Maybe Kerry could make up a list and try to atone for all the C**p that
he's pulled over the years. I don't think that he can ever get his karma
right, but it might be entertaining watching him try.

Oh, "Brokeback Mountain". It's a chick flick. 'Nough said.

I think that I had a touch of homophobia this morning, but I took a
couple of Advils and am feeling better now.

Part of the 1970’s Hollywood agenda was to define Vietnam Veterans as dissidents. See shame on Hollywood.

http://www.swiftvets.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1229&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

Since the redefining of the word gay, Hollywood has been influencing American culture to accept homosexual behavior as being main stream. It started out subtly, with sporadic homosexual inferences in sit-coms like “All in the Family” with a continued acceleration to where we can hardly watch a sit-com or a comic monologue without their being an inference of homosexual behavior.

I wouldn't waste a penny to see that film becuase of the immoral message it sends, like every movie hollyweird does these days. Very sad. Evil or Very Mad

From the Federalist today 1/27
---------------------------------
ON THE CULTURE FRONT...

In a classic example of manufacturers failing to heed the market,
the liberal Hollywood crowd is mystified by the paltry box-office
receipts of its homosexual sheepherder movie, "Brokeback
Mountain." After heavily promoting this tale that features,
we're told, graphic scenes of men groping each other, the film
has managed to generate only $33 million in box office sales.

Even when the film's actors are mentioned or introduced on
late-night talk shows, audience response is muted. As should
have been expected, homosexually themed movies are a financial
bust. Among the biggest recent financial blockbusters are
Christian-themed movies, such as the Chronicles of Narnia ($272
million domestic; $615 million worldwide) and "The Passion of
the Christ" ($370 million domestic; $611 million worldwide).

The lesson here is that films with aberrant themes tend to turn
off the vast majority of American audiences, while faith-inspired
movies are proven moneymakers. Hollywood thus ignores market
forces to its own detriment: Box office receipts have fallen by
12 percent this year, arguably as a result of this neglect.
