I am new here, not a Navy guy or vet of Nam, but a Vet and part of my speciality is logical reasoning (troubleshooting and problem solving mostly) and I have been exercising it to get a fair hearing from as many people as possible for "Unfit for Command" and the SwiftVets in general.

Questions: The book seems unavailable as of the 11th (I have copies reserved on Amazon and various local bookstores who all seem inundated with requests.) Anyone HAVE ONE?

The description of the Rasmussan on of the cable channels from the point of view of a sailer on the other boat, was particularly compelling -- and Rasmussan responded by claiming "35 year memory fades" or some fictious 35 year statute of limitations.

Does anyone have or know a sourse for either the full transcriptions or the name (that's likely easy) of the witnesses and text of their descriptions?

Were there other witness who have written? Rasmussan could not refute the description of the man viewing the incident from "14 feet above the water line and a 360 degree view" who said there was NO enemy fire and that the boats did NOT leave the area as Kerry has said.

Just curious: Does anyone know if Rassman lost his weapon when he went into the water? (I imagine he lost lots of stuff that day.)

You may find some of the information that you're seeking here:
http://www.swiftvets.com/article.php?story=20040808144320243

It's the cover letter that accompanied the more than 100 pages of supporting documentation for the ad sent to the television stations.

Even without the actual sworn affidavits yet available, the cover letter alone is pretty damaging.

Thank you that was a big help and I might have overlooked that for quite some time (the letter's description sounded inoccuous.)

Another item I need (but haven't yet tried to search) is the fully Congressional Record of Kerry's remarks in 1986.

The short quote doesn't mention Nixon and it is interesting to see if the surrounding remarks include that context or inference or if Kerry had caught onto his lie somewhat by then.
