Thank you for your email to Governor Schwarzenegger regarding kidney cancer legislation. The Governor values suggestions on how government can better serve the people of our State.

In order to create a new law or update an existing one, a member of the California Legislature must first introduce a bill. If approved by both the State Assembly and State Senate, the bill then goes to the Governor for approval. As such, you may wish to contact your representatives in the Legislature to share your ideas, comments and concerns. To find your representatives or for more information on legislative bills, please visit the Official California Legislative Information website at www.leginfo.ca.gov.

Again, thank you for writing Governor Schwarzenegger. An informed and engaged citizenry is important for effective government in our Golden State.

Sincerely,

Office of Constituent Affairs

Dear Office of Constituent Affairs,

Thank you for trying to educate those Californians who attended Public Schools in this State on how a Representative Government operates. Unfortunately for you, I attended Private School and really find your response condescending at best and untruthful at worst. Since it has already been several months since I contacted the Governor's office, it would have been much better to have not received a response at all, rather than to receive what your office has written. Since you have taken it upon yourself to teach me how things work up in Sacramento, I think it would be fitting if I also had the same opportunity.

In case you were out of the country this past week when your boss unveiled his plan for Healthcare in California, the Governor announced what has been called a "bold" Healthcare initiative. It's a shame it was all for nothing since the Legislature has not voted on his plan. So therefore I think it would be appropriate for you to forward the same email you sent to me to Governor Schwarzenegger. Maybe you can even help him figure out who his Legislative Representatives are so that he can give them a private reading of his speech and hopefully they will make it a law and he will be able to sign the bill. And to think, if it wasn't for the Office of Constituent Affairs, he might not have ever been able to get his bold plan enacted.

Your office should be commended for such a noble service that it provides.

Sincerely,

SBD
