Washington Post scribe/blogger William Arkin has ignited a firestorm of indignation with yet another demonstration of Kerry-esque, leftist disdain for our military. His jaw-dropping, overtly anti-military leftist polemic, "The Troops Also Need to Support the American People" (which, at this writing, has generated some 475 online comments), and a smorgasbord of the fallout is nicely documented at Michelle Malkin.com.

35 years ago this brand of despicable rhetoric was fomented, mainstreamed and unchallenged.

Thank God for alternative media and the internet. This ain't your daddy's Vietnam.

In trying to 'excuse' or 'apologize,' not sure what he is doing, I see him adding insult to injury in todays piece, A Note to My Readers on Supporting the Troops

Especially telling to me, from early in the article; "I intentionally chose to criticize the military and used the word [mercenary] to incite and call into question their presumption that the public had a duty to support them. The public has duties, but not to the American military."

I love how all the lefties in the press are beginning to blog.
