THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned from a military source close to the investigation that Pvt. Scott Thomas Beauchamp--author of the much-disputed "Shock Troops" article in the New Republic's July 23 issue as well as two previous "Baghdad Diarist" columns--signed a sworn statement admitting that all three articles he published in the New Republic were exaggerations and falsehoods--fabrications containing only "a smidgen of truth," in the words of our source.

Which raises the question:

When will John Kerry recant his tall tales of Genghis Khans and Baby Killers?

Do we have the emergence of a new word in the political lexicon? Might I suggest "being Beauchamped" or "Beauchampism"?

Apparently l'affaire Beauchamp is also reflective of a recently identified medical phenomenon, Pre-TSD (satire alert...it's "The Onion").

While it's good that the truth eventually comes out I wish there were some way to erase the damage these people do with their false claims and lies.
But alas, the public little hears or remembers the corrections, retractions, or actual truth of the matter. They only seem to remember the original claim or story.
Once a rumor is started, it's hard to quell and the damage is done.
Which makes these type of things so terrible, they can seldom be stopped even when corrected.
Many people still take up for the traitor Kerry to this day and believe his charges even though they have since proved to be falsifications and fabrications.

The question is will the New Republic recant and tell the world they were duped by an idiot and traitor? If they do recant where will it be published below the fold on Pp. 108 under an obsure ad for condoms? Lets face it the liberal media will publish anything as long as they do not have to take responsibility for it. Dan Rather still claims the National Guard documents are accurate forgeries.

Or perhaps we have a new 'group' of words to include the Beauchamp one along with Kerryied. Title the group 'Kerryisms' since he should hold the title of master liar and deceiver. (right under Satan)
