Dr. Jerry Corsi's much anticipated "The Obama Nation" debuts tomorrow and a media blitz has apparently commenced with an appearance this afternoon on the "Sean Hannity" radio program and a scheduled appearance this evening on Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes".

The leftist caterwauling has already commenced with whiners-in-chief Media Mutters already yelping in a pre-publication din.

Looks like Dr. Corsi might be a force to be reckoned with in Campaign 2008 as well...(and the title alone is a marvelous play on words)...

Quote:
Description

In this thoroughly researched and documented book, the #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry explains why the extreme leftism of an Obama presidency would leave the United States weakened, diminished and divided, why Obama must be defeated -- and how he can be.

The Obama Nation
By Jerome R. Corsi, PhD
Simon and Schuster

Barack Obama stepped onto the national political stage when the then-Illinois State senator addressed the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Soon after Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate, author Jerome Corsi began researching Obama's personal and political background.

Scrupulously sourced with more than 600 footnotes, The Obama Nation is the result of that research. By tracing Obama's career and influences from his early years in Hawaii and Indonesia, the beginnings of his political career in Chicago, his voting record in the Illinois legislature, his religious training and his adoption of Christianity through to his recent involvement in Kenyan politics, his political advisors and fundraising associates and his meteoric campaign for president, Jerome Corsi shows that an Obama presidency would, in his words, be "a repeat of the failed extremist politics that have characterized and plagued Democratic Party politics since the late 1960s."

In this stunning and comprehensive new book, the reader will learn about:
  • Obama's extensive connections with Islam and radical politics, from his father and step-father's Islamic backgrounds, to his Communist and socialist mentors in Hawaii and Chicago, to his long-term and close associations with former Weather Underground heroes William Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn -- associations much closer than heretofore revealed by the press.

  • Barack and Michelle's 20-year-long religious affiliation with the black-liberation theology of former Trinity United Church of Christ Reverend Jeremiah Wright, whose sermons have always been steeped in a rage first expressed by Franz Fanon , Stokely Carmichael and Malcolm X, a rage that Corsi shows has deep meaning for Obama.

  • Obama's continuing connections with Kenya, the homeland of his father, through his support for the candidacy of Raila Odinga, the radical socialist presidential contender who came to power amid Islamist violence and church burnings.

  • Obama's involvement in the slum-landlord empire of the Chicago political fixer Tony Rezko, who helped to bankroll Obama's initial campaigns and to purchase of Barack and Michelle's dream-home property.

  • The background and techniques of the Obama campaign's cult of personality, including the derivation of the words "hope" and change."

  • Obama's far-left domestic policy, his controversial votes on abortion, his history of opposition to the Second Amendment, his determination to raise capital-gains taxes, his impractical plan to achieve universal health care, and his radical plan to tax Americans to fund a global-poverty-reduction program.

  • Obama's naïve, anti-war, anti-nuclear foreign-policy, predicated on the reduction of the military, the eradication of nuclear weapons and an overconfidence in the power of his personality, as if belief in change alone could somehow transform international politics, achieve nuclear-weapons disarmament and withdrawal from Iraq without adverse consequences, for us, for the Iraqis or for Israel.
Meticulously researched and documented, The Obama Nation is the definitive source for information on why and how Barack Obama must be defeated -- not by invective and general attacks, but by detailed arguments that are well-researched and fact-based.

I visited the Peoples Cube Obama site and got this inspiration:

I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents...-- James Madison.

Vir prudens non contra ventum mingit

("Vir prudens non contra ventum mingit" is a latin proverb meaning "A wise man does not pee against the wind". The figurative meaning (as opposed to the literal, which is quite obvious) is that one should not do something if he does not wish to suffer the consequences. Liveforever prefers this interpretation: "one should not struggle against insurmountable odds.")

Yes, sort of.

Quote:
Significant parts of the book, whose subtitle is “Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality,” have already been challenged as misleading or false in the days since its debut on Aug. 1. Nonetheless, it is to make its first appearance on The New York Times best-seller list for nonfiction hardcovers this Sunday — at No. 1.

They also include the obligatory dig at 'Unfit For Command,'

Quote:
In its timing, authorship and style of reporting, the book is strikingly reminiscent of the one Mr. Corsi wrote with John O’Neill about Mr. Kerry, “Unfit for Command,” which included various accusations that were ultimately undermined by news reports pointing out the contradictions. (Some critics of Mr. Kerry quoted in the book had earlier praised his bravery in incidents they were now asserting he had fabricated; one had earned a medal for bravery in a gun battle he accused Mr. Kerry of concocting.)

But books like “Unfit for Command,” which remained for some 12 weeks on the Times best-seller list, and, now, “The Obama Nation,” have become an effective and favored delivery system for political attacks. There have been anti-Clinton (both Bill and Hillary) and anti-Bush books too numerous to name. The sensational findings in these books, true or dubious, can quickly come to dominate the larger political discussion in the news media, especially on cable television and the less readily detectible confines of talk radio and partisan Web sites.

Would we really expect anything less from the NYT?

As long as the Democrats keep offering vacuous dubities Corsi can keep going to the bank like Theodore White. It's a nice niche. The difference being Ted told paeans after elections. Corsi discomforts the the comfortable before the election.

The Leftist "journalists" and op-ed writers turn purple with rage and frustration wishing one of their puff-pieces would net them a Pulitzer and a pot of gold while Corsi comes back for seconds on taking their lunch money and exposing their heros for the scoundrels they are. Those clowns wouldn't know a footnote from a halfnote if it jumped up and typed the encyclopedia Britannica on their word processors. Research, oh you mean call the reporters' pool and see what AP or Reuters or the DNC has put out for their next column?

Colmes is easily made to look foolish when he challenges intelligent guests. Last night he looked particularly apoplectic up against Corsi. Laughing

Amazon.com recommends "The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality"

I just got an email from Amazon.com with that subject, and it is authentic. Good for Amazon.com
