SPARTANBURG, SC (Talon News) -- The campaign manager for Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry sent a message to members of the Democratic National Committee on Wednesday chiding President George W. Bush's campaign of launching a "vicious smear attack against John Kerry."
Kerry campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill said she wanted to let DNC supporters know about "something that will make you angry, but which is important for you to hear."
Cahill said the Bush campaign as well as "several allied right-wing groups" have gone into attack mode with the release of a new political ad critical of Kerry's service in Vietnam from Swift Boat Veterans for truth this week.
Bush has condemned the television ad from the group and called on all third party groups on both sides of the political spectrum to cease running ads against Bush and Kerry, including liberal online political action groups MoveOn.org and America Coming Together, among others.
Despite the president's obvious opposition to these ads from so-called 527 groups, Cahill believes the Bush campaign coordinated them to coincide with Kerry's inability to raise campaign funds.
"They think we're vulnerable this month because while George Bush is still able to raise money for attack ads, Kerry had to stop fundraising at the Democratic convention last week," Cahill remarked, although the third party ads were not paid for by the Bush campaign.
Cahill added, "They're taking this opportunity go for the jugular."
Never missing an opportunity to ask for financial support, Cahill asked DNC members to donate to the Kerry campaign to "join us in this fight today."
In what she describes as "the worst of the current wave of attacks," Cahill said the "Republican-funded" Swift Boat Vets is "led by a longtime Republican operative and financed by GOP contributors with strong tries to President George W. Bush."
"Their function in the overall Republican strategy is this: tear down John Kerry, since Bush has no record or vision to run on," Cahill exclaimed.
She said the ad is "full of lies" because it includes thirteen men who "never served with John Kerry."
"[They] lie about knowing [Kerry] and viciously attack his record," Cahill responded.
She continued, "It is a new low for the Republicans," although this ad was not released by the Republican Party or the Bush campaign.
Expressing her pleasure with the release of these new ads, Cahill said she expects them to make the Democratic ticket "stronger."
"When [Republicans] ran dishonest attack ads, thousands of new supporters gave the resources needed to fight back on the airwaves," Cahill revealed.
Cahill said the Kerry campaign will not back down because its supporters and the DNC will rise to the challenge. She asked Kerry supporters to give money to the Democratic Party to "fight against these right-wing attacks."
"The Democratic Party is responsible for putting organizers and volunteers into the field and turning out the millions of votes we need to win," Cahill noted. "We literally cannot win this election without the [Democratic] Party."
In a final jab at Bush, Cahill said they must continue to take the fight to their opponent so they will not be defeated in November.
"You and I know that, if we so much as yield an inch to George Bush and the Republicans this month, we'll live to regret it," Cahill concluded. "In fact, we may live to regret it for four long years."

As usual, don't address the problem...shoot the messenger.

Funny.
Somehow I don't recall any such outrage on the part of the Demo-gogues, when the Soros-supported 527's were referring to Pres. Bush as a deserter, and engaging in the worst sort of insults. Guess it all depends whose ox is being gored.
Anyway, if these crybabies can't stand the heat, they ought to get their sorry a-ses out of the proverbial kitchen.

Ok, ok, this is starting to sound like a Revival meeting.
Thanks for the feedback, one and all.
