Some excerpts from the LA Times article

Quote:
"Obama ran his campaign around the idea the war was not legitimate, but it sends a very different message when you bring in people who supported the war from the beginning," said Kelly Dougherty, executive director of the 54-chapter Iraq Veterans Against the War.

<<>>

"It's astonishing that not one of the 23 senators or 133 House members who voted against the war is in the mix," said Sam Husseini of the liberal group Institute for Public Accuracy.

<<>>

Kevin Martin, executive director of the group Peace Action, said that although Obama had campaigned as an agent of change, the president-elect is "a fairly centrist guy" who appears to be choosing from the Democratic foreign policy establishment -- "and nobody from outside it."

"So, in the short term, we're going to be disappointed," he said. "They may turn out to be all pro-war, or at least people who were pro-war in the beginning."

<<>>

Martin said that his group was concerned about Gates and Clinton as well as Rahm Emanuel, Obama's choice for White House chief of staff. He also said his group was trying to mobilize its grass-roots supporters with e-mail alerts, but recognized that it must approach the subject delicately because of public euphoria over Obama's historic victory.

"There's so much Obama hero worship, we're having to walk this line where we can't directly criticize him," he said. "But we are expressing concern."

According to my intel (which may not be much) the anti-war crews are now undergoing severe defunding. Their activities are being left up to their ability to raise their funds as of now.

Back in Feb 2008, the socialists predicted Barak Obama would get office vis a vice & were talking about disbanding/defunding the anti war crews. I posted their thoughts and a written report elsewhere on the 'Net.

Found it out just before going to WS2. Mentioned it to everyone at my briefing held at the motel before we went over to Silver Springs.

Hi ya, Scott.

According to an October 2008 newsletter by Tom Hayden, it got underway with BO's winning.

Anything the IVAW/VVAW/VFP & puppet crews do now is to be entirely self-funded including their opening of a Tulleys coffee shop outside of the gates of FT Lewis.

Its not really outside the gates of Lewis, just in the nearby town of Lakewood, WA.

We are going to hear zippo of them once Barak takes office officially. That is the official word from the socialist crew. Like cockroaches, they're gonna go hide in the woodwork.......

I dunno.

With the chairmanship of the Senate Foreign Relations Comittee now in his grasp, Kerry will probably all-but-beg the VVAW to come "testify" so he can wallow in the theatre of a contemporary reprise of his 1971 treason.

He won't be able to resist it.

This can be a blessing in disguise, as it so divides the Democratic party. That's what you get when your support comes from extremists, who are only concerned about their own agenda.

I cannot imagine that Lurch will do himself any good grandstanding, and it presents another opportunity to publicly ask for his entire service record.
