Excerpt:

Quote:
Barack Obama became the first U.S. president to skip out on the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Ball since its inception in 1953. The event recognizes recipients of the military's highest award - the Medal of Honor - and as The Cleveland Leader previously reported, over the past 56 years and 14 inaugurations, no President has failed to appear at this event until now.

Chicago politics at its finest. Back pat those who supported you, snub those who didn't.

Hmmm, just how many MOH recipients supported the 'O'?

Well, if it was even one, it was too many.

Actually, it shouldn't matter if any MOH recipients supported him or not. Those that are still alive sacrificed heavily or performed in such a way that grave risk was taken in serving America, something I doubt the likes of Obama understands.

Snubbing a group such as that isn't subbing someone who may not have supported you, it is snubbing someone who faced death to give him the freedom to be where he is today.

To me, it is total disdain for those that actually do keep America free. It is turning your back on those who we owe so much and can never repay.

It is unconscionable for any CiC to just skip showing honor to such a deserving group of heroes.

No argument on that one at all Lew. 14 previous CIC's have done the right thing and attended to honor them. Unfortunately what we have now is one whose "honor" resides solely on the political side of things, disdaining the peons who can no longer help him. Regardless of what they may have done in the past.

This will probably the shortest honeymoon a new president has ever had and the reason can be laid directly at his feet.

This guy is even worse than I thought he was going to be. We will have to work for years to undo what he's doing.

Yes, he truly is.

And I was plenty afraid of him, already! Shocked

Further showing his lack of class, last evening at the Alfalfa Club Annual Banquet, held on General Robert E. Lee's birthday, he attempted a joke with,
Quote:
"The club was started partly to celebrate the birth of Confederate General Robert E. Lee. If Lee were here with us tonight, the general would be 202 years old. And very confused."

Obama pokes fun at Alfalfa Club dinner
