Congratulations to Paul Galanti - and Veterans Affairs in the state of Virginia couldn't be in better hands.

What a great guy!

Cream certainly does rise to the top.

Congratulations to Commander Paul Galanti on his well-deserved appointment...

Galanti among McDonnell appointments
By Olympia Meola
Richmond Times-Dispatch
March 26, 2010

Paul Galanti, a former prisoner of war in Vietnam’s Hanoi Hilton, will serve as commissioner for the Department of Veterans Services in the McDonnell administration.

The Richmond resident has become one of the most high-profile veterans in the state, and served as chairman of Veterans for Sen. John McCain during the 2008 presidential race. Like Galanti, McCain was held prisoner at the North Vietnam complex.

Galanti’s appointment was among several dozen that McDonnell announced yesterday, fleshing out his administration by pulling heavily from the staff of the attorney general’s office that worked there when he headed it. McDonnell served as attorney general from 2006 to 2009.
