This is a great idea.

Would one of moderators comment on this please?

"Why is John Kerry so afraid of the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth? Find out at www.swiftvets.com"

"Why is the media ignoring the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth? Find out at www.swiftvets.com"

Make people think and question, then bypass the media blackout.

I think a photo of the 3 Veterans memorial bronze statue as the eye catcher and the words "Senator Kerry...release Standard Form 180 for their sake".

Let's not get bogged in statistics and nuance...we as a nation suffer from ADD and emotions will drive home the issue.

Problem is that while we know what a Form 180 is, a great many do not. For all they know it's a tax form.

Just brainstorming: In Mpls a few weeks ago, the anti-abortion people had 2-3 large delivery trucks driving around and around the block downtown at lunchtime for a couple hours with a huge ad covering each side of the truck.

I agree about people not knowing the meaning of the Form 180 - and I don't know if there's time to wait for them to look it up...

Maybe it could directly say:
"Mr Kerry: The public has a right to know! Release all of your military records!"
---This ad paid for by CITIZEN SUPPORTERS of Swift Boat Veterans For Truth.
READ "Unfit For Command". Goto: swiftvets.com for the facts.

Hopefully some of us have the resources/talent (owners of trucks, billboards, signs??? $$) to do something, AND SOON. I'd be willing to put in some money for this, but I'm just one person with limited funds -- how do we connect ???

Simple is good. Very good point. I'll assume along with you that the idiots will figure it out.

I'm not trying to veto the idea, but we need to remember that to be effective the message needs to be simple and easily understood, while not coming across like the Deaniacs.

Perhaps in MN it could go;

JOHN KERRY
MINNESOTA DESERVES TO KNOW YOUR ENTIRE MILITARY RECORD
SIGN FORM 180

Yegads ! -- please don't put me anywhere near a Deaniac! (stoic here...). I didn't like the tone of the reply to my post which contained two "idiots" -- all I'm doing is making suggestions, not laying plans -- sort of felt I (or someone) was being shouted at but wasn't sure.

Thanks for your post and your good idea. Very Happy

Forgivenjojo,

I first thought of using America, but used MN since the thread was dealing with battleground states. The thought behind it was that if the individual in the state felt he had a right to know; they may be more likely to call and demand action. All politics is local as they say.

Never thought the idiot remark was aimed anyone but those you claimed. While it is true as P.T. Barnum said, "no one ever went broke under estimating the intelligence of the American public", another political axiom is that you never insult the voter, no matter what you think of him. Kerry forgets this when he calls Bush backers "goons" or when he attacked the guy who wanted to know which foreign leaders he had met with. Let's not drop to his level.
