Is Kerry going to get a "warm" reception when he speaks at the American Legion Convention?

That will be in Nashville, Tennessee, right?

Please, please, please, please broadcast the most recent commercial just once in a Nashville market before Kerry speaks there (if I have the location right). They won't go for that crap down there.

Do you think most everyone, everywhere is aware of this issue by now? Aren't local radio and tv stations talking about it just as FOX, MSNBC etc. are?

It's more a radio and cable than broadcast television phenomenon in my area of *******, which isn't all that different from Tennessee, where I think the AL meeting is. More people see these things on broadcast television if they see them at all. I realize money is tight but this might be a good investment.

As I stated before, I am not a vet but my Dad was a member of the American Legion in KS before he passed away about 5 years ago. I was a member of the Sons of the American Legion for about 4 years till the SAL unit was disbanded and those Vets have a very long memory.

I would be very suprised if Kerry gets anything other than a cold reception

Sen. John Kerry, breaking with tradition, plans to campaign during the GOP convention. He'll speak in Nashville, Tenn., at the American Legion's meeting opposite Vice President Dick Cheney's convention speech on Sept. 1.

Lee is right.

As I understand it, although Tennessee is a swing state, the Nashville area is heavily Democratic. Nonetheless, those tend to be conservative Democrats like those here, and they hate Kerry's slander of his fellow vets.

That commercial probably would fire up those there, who I realize also will be from all over the country, but as things go a disproportionate number probably will be local.

And what Hanna said earlier is true to a degree, this is seeping out via the cable networks and radio but at this point most people still get their news from broadcast stations.

Hi All,
I am a fairly new American Legion member.
Post 615 Tinley Park, IL.
I am also a member of the B-57 Bummers ASSN BLMF
and the 13th Bomb Squadron Assn.

I believe that the Swiftvets message needs to be heard in any venue available. I just saw a reporter interviewing vets at the Vietnam Memorial
concerning Kerry, his record and the swift vets message.

Most were more concerned with Kerry's false testimony and accusations against his ( Fellow? ) veterans. The records say he only served 4 months
In Country. How in the world could he attest to what anyone else was doing aside from his little corner of the country?

The only people he could accuse were his own unit mates.
In essence, he accused his own unit mates of Rape, atrocities and murder of innocents.

I believe that the veterans of this country will speak out LOUD and CLEAR on election day. Between now and then the cause of the swiftvets will become a national issue.

That dog can't dig a deep enough hole to bury this bone!!
