My father-in-law, Hubert Urban, passed away a few weeks ago. He served in the USN 1941-1945 on the USS Bowfin. He later joined the USA. He retired from the USA as the last E-7 MSG in the army.

Being the man that he was, he would never discuss his WWII service. My wife had hoped, since I was in the military, he would discuss his service with me but he would alway say "I did what I had to do."

If anyone here knew Hube, please send me a private message.

Rittar

Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep.

Oh hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea! Amen.

Fair winds and following seas, shipmate....

Rittar, my sincere condolences your family. I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
