Dear Swift Boat Veterans,

Could you all contact this website to see if they will host all the pictures that any of your members may have of their service in Swift Boats in Vietnam.

Currently I am trying to debate people who think that the other Swift Boat Veterans can have NO credibuility because they were not serving on the same boat as John Kerry. I think the mentality that they are working under is that each ship is like an aircraft carier or a battleship. They don't see these as ships in close support of each other.

I was trying to find a copy of a picture that I saw on C-Span that was included in a story by Michael Dobbs. It was a picture of three boats side by side departing the port.

People don't know how tight these boats and sailors are.

Bob Shirley is a Swiftboat OinC (and a frequent contributor to this forum) with the most extensive and informative website on swiftboats that I'm aware of. Try here...

Patrol Craft Fast

I would also recommend that you "search" for Bob's posts (rbshirley) in this forum.

Another authority on Riverine operations who contributes here often is Tom Mortensen (ASPB).

There are various sites that show people's photos of their time in Vietnam on Swift boats. There's one for Ha Tien where the author doesn't want anyone to repost his photos. But you can still see this (some kind of custom image format using java). It might be nice for some of these guys, here, to give an idea of what it looked like, as well. I think it's even becoming something of a general interest, apart from the Kerry and his ambitions.

Here ya go.

If this don't shut them up, they are a lost cause. This is the USS WASHTENAW COUNTY - Kerry's barracks ship. Note the boats tied up next to the larger ship where Kerry slept from FEB to MAR 69 for the most part. If this doesn't make an impression, let me know and I'll speak very very v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y so they can understand. Cool
