I just got done watching Tim Russert and two magazine reporters on his talk show on cnbc. Russert asked these men if their was any truth to the claims being made by the Swiftvets, and they both replied that other than Cambodia, there was not truth to any of the claims. I was so angry i turned the T.V. off and sent a letter to the show. Night after night these shows have people on who don't know what their talking about, have obviously not done their own investigation into the charges themselves, or even taken 10 minutes to read anything on the subject. The other night it was Bill Press who came out and called the Swift Vets liars. I just hope that i'm not the only one writing shows to complain. I hope all of you are doing the same thing. They shouldn't be allowed to defame these men, and if i were one of the vets I'd start sueing for liable. This has gotten to be ridiculous! I just hope you guys hang on, the american people are listening and thankfully we're smart enough to know that theres a whole lot of press people who are merely front men for the Kerry campaign!

That is the reason I very rarely watch the television news or news
programs. My blood pressue goes up as I get angry at the lies.

Keep writing whenever you see something like that, it keeps the
station in line if people object. Ask them to be fair and put on someone
from the Swiftvets when they produce such shows. Tell them they
are totally inaccurate in what they are saying, or spouting, or yelling
about the facts. You feel better as well!

I must admit I have gotten to be a writer to everything in the last
three months! If enough do it, there may be some little change and
if they don't, hey, you tried!

I still say (as I said on another thread) that this part of the SBVFT campaign has had the desired effect. OK, lots of people say they think Kerry is "probably" telling the truth, but there is a little seed of doubt, and he has been shown to be a bit less than honorable.
Now the real battle starts. the anti-war. bad enough on its own, but when the Swifties start to show the country how he actually aided the enemy in Paris and came back and pushed THEIR peace plan, I really think that will be the end. all documented, with pictures of the good senator with the enemy flag, etc...

At least I hope that's the plan.

According to the latest Time Magazine Poll (see RealClear Politics), 35% of the people think "there is some truth" to the SBVT claims. I think it should be higher, but it is much better than it was a month ago (i.e. zero).

We will not ever know how much impact the SBVFT have had, because voting is such a personal and even unconcious thing.

You may answer a poll questio saying you believe Kerry, but when you step into the booth and mark your ballot... the doubt will be there, making you wonder, "What if they are right? Is Bush really that bad?"

Only those who passionately hate Bush will not care. This is why negative ads work so well (even though voters say they hate them). They raise doubts. And if the Bush campaign continues to do its job of raising questions on the issues, on Kerry's lack of a record, on his waffling, the the doubts about his honesty and character raised by the Swiftees will doom Kerry in the polling booth.

I'll say one thing. If, as I believe, Kerry sinks in November history will write that the Swiftvets "Guns of August" was the battle that won the war!
