Yes, he will be missed. Everyone should read his letters -- no way anyone can call him "slow" once done.

I didn't agree with some of his policies, but he was able to bring hope and optimism back to a country that sorely needed it. I pray that his family will only remember the good times now that their nightmare is over.

RIP

Reagan was a very brave and honorable man. Even though I wasn't even born when he first took office in around 1980, I have learned enough about him to know what great things he had done for this country. I only wish that the rest of the nation would realize this as well.

Ronald Reagan, was a great leader. He was the begining of the drive to put every other country on notice not to screw with our citizens. Such as the hostages in Iran. They were released day's before he was inagurated, because the terrorists knew we were coming, Reagan made that very clear. He set the tempo for our military and gave them everything they needed to do the job. He stood tall and proud and gained respect from even his critics. He could not be shaken. "Tear down that wall" and it came down. History will show that we lost a great "Leader" and "Man" today. Semper Fi Mr. Reagan and God's speed.

The dunce carter was the president before Reagan wasn't he? The reason I ask is beacuse I remember reading some article about Carter and a hostage situation.

Reagan, the only president to have begun fixing previous presidents blunders before actually taking office.

Yes, Americans were held as hostages in the American embassy in Iran for over 440 days. The Iranian Revolution was scared to death of Reagan and hoped he wouldn't be elected.

As Mr. & Mrs. Reagan walked down Penn Av on inauguration day, the chicken Iranian muslims let the hostages go. They knew what would happen if they tried to pull the same crap with a Republican president.

I was very proud to have served with President Reagan as CinC.

He fixed so many things that had gone wrong with our military and our country - his optimism and policies led us back to prosperity and pride and his promotion of freedom helped bring down the Iron Curtain.

The insanity of the threat of Mutually Assured Destruction under which I grew up was over.

Rest in peace, Mr. President.

God bless you and comfort those who mourn your passing.

We will remember you with pride and gratitude.

After Vietnam, with Carter in office, the military was apathetic.

We had so little money for defense that paratroopers walked everywhere at Fort Bragg and "jumped" out of 2 1/2 ton trucks on Sicily drop zone because there was no fuel for the planes. At FT Campbell, Companies were the size of a platoon.

Ronald Reagan brought this country back from the brink and put us back in the vanguard. He led American so Americans walked wih thier heads held high once again.

He made it fashionable to be patriotic. Again.

He loved us, his soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines. The military lacked for nothing under his leadership.

He bowed to no nation. He said what he meant, and meant what he said. He understood the power of words, and he respected the office he held. He also understood the power to the United States of America and the people of the United States.

He was a man.

Every soldier I knew during this era would have gone to hell and back for that man.

He was Commander in Chief. No question.

God Bless you sir. You, my last remaining hero has passed to a better place. I loved serving you as you lead our nation. You made us all better Americans.

This nation should drop to it's knees and weep.

Rest in Peace, President Reagan. You have surely earned it.
