On CNN political analysis:

Earlier Andrea Mitchell commented that Kerry would not be able to change the subject and get his message out until he gets the Swiftboats off his back

Michael Barone quoting Kerry's pathetic lament ["I will not have my patriotism called into question!"]
said, "Who does he think he is talking to, his butler?

Choice!

How 'bout it Swiftees? Any of you plan to get off? What about the larger population of veterans (25 million or so)? How about the non-vets? Case closed.

Who in the heck knows! The only message he has is "One Silver Star, Two Duty Tours, Three Purple Hearts and a Partridge in a Pear Tree."

Not bad, that's a catchy phrase, the media would love it. Laughing

I agree, as long as the Swiftees and we, their supporters, keep the foot on the accelerator, one of three things will happen (at least, in my certainly fallible opinion):

1) Kerry will continue to run his campaign -- without apologizing -- and saddled with doubts about his truthfulness, loyalty and leadership, which is surely a losing proposition

2) Kerry will sign a Form 180, releasing his records, which won't significantly conflict with his position on the questions raised, and he therefore won't apologize

3) Kerry will sign a Form 180, releasing his records, which will be in signficant conflict with his position. He will be forced to apologize and will gain some support for having "stepped up to the plate".

Either way, Swiftees win.

Swiftees - keep flooring the accelerator!

If Kerry gets the Swiftees off his back he then has to talk about his Senate
Record. Which is worse Vienam Record or Senate Record? He has always run on Vietnam so he did not have to talk about his 20 years in the Senate.
I doubt that Kerry will apologize, He has to much of and ego and is to arrogant.

He's always run on HIS version of Vietnam. Without a signed Form 180, that's all we have.

What in the H&LL do you mean that's all we have?
What about Kerry's antics with Vietname Veterans Against the War?
If all the other Swiftees get taken out, this swiftboat sailor, is in for the long haul.
Kerry's actions after Vietnam are traitorous.
He purgered himself before Congress.
He had private dealing with the enemy, North Vietnamese, in time of war while still being part of the military reserve.
He accused returning servicemen of committing war crimes and created a situation that brought about the torture of American POWs.
His voting record has been anti-military ever since.
We have plenty of things to call him out on.

We just have to be relentless.
It has worked to date. It will continue to work.
