Twisted Evil Why haven't any Texas Air National Guard veterans from the Viet Nam era come forth and challenge Kerrys claims of draft dodging by enlisting in the Guard? Fighter pilots from the Presidents branch of service were killed in action, in Viet Nam. A show of their families, asking Kerry if their father, or husband was a draft dodger, would be powerful.
The President could have been called into combat at any time. The only reason he wasn't was because our participation in the war was winding down. Kerry could not deny that he called service in the Guard, a form of dodging the draft, and cowardly.

If a bunch did come forward, it makes it look as if someone is taking Kerry's claims seriously. Not one claim Kerry is making can erase his treasonable conduct after he came back.

I agree. It's a non-issue and should be treated as such.

I see a big difference in the issues and the way they must be addressed.

Sometime I get pissed at Bush for not responding, but I have to admit that he really is above the fray.

Bush's ANG service has been vetted again and again over the years. A lot of the problem comes from the fact that people don't understand how the Guard works. Those who care and are fair minded understand that he served. Those who will never be convinced.. will never be convinced. For most people it is simply a non-issue. Bush 9/10 and Bush 9/12 are two different people, and the ANG just doesn't matter.

Kerry, on the other hand, has never really had to face the music. The closest he came was in 1996 when a Boston Globe reporter wondered, since he had shot the fleeing SS VC in the back from his story, whether he had committed a war crime. Ironically, this is about the only thing the SBVFT agree with Kerry on - it was a legit kill under the circumstances.

Kerry cannot ignore this like Bush can the AWOL nonsense. It hasn't been bantered about and beaten to death over the years. The press wants to pretend that it has, but they haven't given it anything like the scrutiny Bush's ANG record got.

Bush has, over the years, done the work to document his ANG service. Kerry has not, for good reason - the documents he withholds would prove the SBVFT case. Thus he has to a) claim he has released everything and hope a credulous public believes it, b) say he has disproved all the allegations and hope a credulous public believes it, and c) slime and attack those who call him to account.

If Kerry shows a real drop, and it appears that he can no way win, the MSM will start tearing at him. All of a sudden you will get that fine bulldog reporting that Bush faces every day. WIth Kerry, given his weaknesses, he will be dogmeat. The MSM wants Kerry to win, but once it is seen that he is a lost cause they will cease cherleading for him and go after him because they will be able to say "We were working on this all along; it's a complicated story." (Think the story about Schwartzenegger right before the election, Bush's DUI right before the election). (Note: don't confuse the latest polls with a real drop.)

Think of how the MSM spins a few gaps in Bush's paper trail - then see what they could do if they really wanted to with Kerry's.

"Senator, the medical report for 13 March shows you wounded by shrapnel in the butt and a bruised arm. Was the shrapnel from a mine under your boat, or was it from the incident earlier in the day when you adn Rassmann threw grenades into a rice bin? Were you wounded twice in the butt that day? Wouldn't both the rice wound and the bruise separately fail to qualify for a PH?"

"Senator, if you were in the pilothouse of the boat, and a mine detonated under you, how could you have gotten shrapnel in your butt without there being hull damage showing up on the 14 March damage report?"

"Senator, where is the after action report for 2 December 1968 showing you received enemy fire? Where is the damage report for the Boston whaler showing gunfire damage? If you did not take incoming fire, do you think your first PH was merited?"

"Senator, where is the application for your 2 December Purple Heart? Who filed it? How could it have been granted without a spot report that showed enemy fire? Why was it granted two months after LTCMDR Hibbard had refused to file it?"

"Senator, what exactly was the mission where the CIA man gave you your hat? When was it? What was his name? Is it in your journal? May we see your complete journal?"

"Senator, when you met with both the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong representatives in Paris, were you still under oath as a reserve officer? Do you consider that a violation of your oath? What exactly did you discuss? Did you offer to help them?"

"Senator, do you consider Vietnam a war? If so, do you believe that your actions in meeting with the enemy, in promoting their agenda upon your return, and in providing testimony before the Senate which confirmed their claims of war crimes, were treason? Do you believe that you gave aid and comfort to the enemy?"

"Senator, are you willing to give back your first and third Purple Heart because they do not meet the requirements for the award? Are you willing to give back the Silver Star because, by your campaign's own admission, the events described in the first citation do not conform to the requirements of the honor?"

"Senator, do you believe you still owe the Navy the balance of your tour of duty since you left under false pretenses?"

Just for starters... Very Happy

tonight 9/6/04 on hannity and Cohmes a retired AF lt. Col. who was Bush's AF reserve C.O. in Alabama during bush's time in 72 said that he personally signed bush in for his monthly meetings. He also had an explanation of why the records don't exist and why there were few that saw him -It was not on Fox site yet- I cannot find the interview on fox, if someone can they should post it for everyone to see.

The next time W is asked, I wish he would just say, "Listen, we both joined the Reserve's. Kerry was called up and I was not." End of story. It is the only way this will be heard by the public, as the MSM will not report this fact. A perfect setting would be on Meet the Press.

Most people do not know Kerry tried for a deferment, was turned down and then joined the Naval Reserves.

Yes, you are right that most people don't know Kerry joined the reserves, after trying to get a deferment to study in Paris (!!!) -- and no wonder since he is STILL telling everyone he joined the Navy to serve his country -- look at his web site! This deferment/reserves thing is an important point to get out there, since it is easy to make and immediately blows a big hole in the gung-ho reporting for duty warrior image Kerry is trying to project. The people I've informed of this were really taken aback. After that, they were receptive to hearing some of the other good stuff, of which there is an endless supply... When you think about it, the REAL Kerry story is a scandal of amazing proportions, like a monstrous hurricane, hovering just off the edge of public consciousness.

That's not exactly what happened to candidate Kerry. See http://www2.swiftvets.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7875

candidate Kerry was enlisted in the Reserve as a holding action when he submited his OCS paperwork

He CERTAINLY DID apply to go to OCS after finding out his 5th deferment would not be approved.

here are two more threads that don't really shed any light on his NG years but it sure looks luke the MSM are going to unleash another pack of lies about bush to offset the swift boat sucess against what kerry did in and after vietnam

Apparently this new '527' is going to start running an ad in which they trot out some AANG pilot who 'swears' Dubya was never there.

Then, of course, tonite we have the former Texas LtGov on '60 Minutes' admitting that he wheeled-&-dealed favors for "families of name" to get ahead!! Gee, that's something to be proud of.

Yeah, the mud-slinging against Dubya is going to go on (see also: http://www.myrtlebeachonline.com/mld/sunnews/news/opinion/9580059.htm) for a shopping list of possible COAs the libs cud employ prior to 02 Nov 04.

Be that as it may, none of this shud have any impact on the SBVFT's efforts to unmask the "pre-war_at-war_post-war"-jfk > > > GBA/cul/dmm

There has to be a lot of guys who joined the National Guard who take offense at the Kerry/Edwards claim the Bush is a coward and a draft dodger because he joined the National Guard. That means that all of them are also cowards & draft dodgers also. These men should speak up and set the record straight.

There were two on Hannity and colmes tonight (9/13)-the person who trained Bush and his room mate in TANG. I've seen others vouch for Bush being in Alabama but the MSM just keeps blowing them off because they want Kerry to win and they won't let a little thing light the truth get in the way Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
