I've been waiting for Dennis to address this -- I only caught the panel mid-discussion. Dennis said thanks to Kerry for serving - and did not like the idea of people questioning his purple hearts. Then he brought up the '71 Senate testimony, and also said that the last Swift ad really hit him -- and asked how will Kerry be able to talk his way out of this one. The dem (Art Torres) basically said that "Kerry had the courage to go before Congress and talk about a war that was not right." (there they go again..)
Perhaps if someone saw the whole thing they could better speak to the tone of the panel discussion. (This is minimal news - but it is the first time I have seen the Swiftees mentioned on his show.) |

Be prepared. The defense will be John Kerry as the real life version of "Mr. Smith goes to Washington". |

Really ?
I just read some stuff I never knew about and posted under Operation Dewey Canyon IV from QandO's website. Easy to read plain english. I know that Art Torres is one of the poeple who would have supported VVAW and FTA (which I understand is playing in London)
I know the medals represent a huge piece of Kerry's character.
But his smear against the vets and our nation behan with his testimony in 1971 and his activites thereafter.
And for this he must pay. _________________ "What our enemies have begun, we will finish,"

That was from early last week--Don't remember who all else was on the panel, but Torres was spewing the typical Dem talking points--Just the usual drivel--Others were speaking from a more conservtive POV--
One thing to remember about Dennis Miller is that, though he was mostly a Democrat most of his life, he's 100% behind President Bush for a number of reasons--I don't get the impression that he likes much of anything that Kerry says, but I'm not sure it would be accurate to say that he's anti-Kerry per se--Any commentary that he's likely to make will usually be from his pro-Bush point of view rather than from one which is anti-Kerry--Therefore, there will probably be times when he says things which aren't entirely in sync with SBVT's objectives but that doesn't necessarily mean that he opposes those objectives--
Also, prior to last week, he was on vacation for a couple of weeks and may not have been following things as closely as he otherwise might--Could be that he hasn't had a chance to research the SBVT's or it could be that he's sufficiently convinced of where he stands between the two men right now that he's not particularly interested--C _________________ “I haven’t seen anyone milk this much out of a bad boat ride since Gilligan” -- Dennis Miller |

The first time I heard this particular statement was from Bob Kerrey, maybe a week ago? And I was utterly shocked. Now it seems, since the weekend, the dems are trotting out this statement every time they get the chance and I'm beginning to expect it. Gets me angry every time, but I think it is a flimsy defense of the traitor and will not withstand the drumbeat of the truth -- which to their dismay, ain't gonna stop!! |

That defense is for people who haven't heard him speaking.
Anyone who hears him speaking can easily see that that statement is far more than a brave questioning of American policy. It says a lot that that's the best talking point the collective minds of the Dems could come up with. It's not that they're stupid people, it's because what he did was damn indefensible.
The Dems have had one bad response after another for Kerry. They can only hope to change the subject, and the Swift Boat Vets can't let them. Don't let them change the subject! _________________ Talking point #1: Sign 180

Impossible to effectively defend the indefensible.
Keep up the pressure, Swiftees! |
