They are both doing great and are being allowed to elaborate fully on the issues. Gotta hand it to the commonwealth club, they are showing integrity.....even in SF.

ONeill got a real good one in. He was questioned about disclosing donors. He explained the situation and then said it would be better for them if John Kerry ran as a republican because they would still be doing what they are doing but would have George Soros as a donor. The crowd loved that one...it got lots of laughs and applause...even the moderator clapped.

Was that not awesome? It is such a shame that the country focuses on the politics rather than the truth. Clearly the truth makes the decision an easy one. John Kerry is very calculating and dishonest person.

They are both very knowledgable and articulate. Our media should be ashamed for not providing the same kind of forum. Amazing how much information can be conveyed and gleaned when there are no screaming leftists allowed to take it over.

This was just the best -- I hope a lot of people got to see it! What a pair, John and Buzz. Powerful presentation. For once, John was able to make full points without being cut off or talked over. From his remarks and some disturbance heard in the audience, it appears there were pro-kerry protestors outside the meeting -- John said he wishes the protestors would read his book! and if they did, he could not understand how they could continue to support kerry.

Made great points about the New Soldier containing false war criminal testimonies -- and about the photo on the cover making fun of the Iwo Jima photo -- he indicated that his dad was at Iwo Jima and that they did not appreciate the cover -- he made a point that kerry will not allow the book to be reprinted -- when he discussed the attempted suppression of the publication of UFC, he got laughs from the crowd when he said his publisher (? or someone) offered to publish The New Soldier.

John was somehow able to address all the main points on this issue, including a lot about the fraud re the medals in less than 1/2 hour -- just a superb job!!

When asked if he saw any connection between what happened back then in Nam and what is happening now in Iraq -- John made a great point about the prison scandal and how it was attempted to make it look like the broader military were all criminals, and said that brought back memories of all the guys in Nam being branded as war criminals for the actions of a few.

Also, he said, how would we feel about an officer coming home from Iraq now and then meeting with Al Qaeda and holding a press conference and telling us how all our military were criminals -- that that was the way he and his fellow vets felt back then when kerry had his Paris meetings with the enemy while they were still fighting in Nam.

He made points about the pro-kerry swiftees being "handled" now and not allowed to speak. That they support kerry for pres, but do not argue the facts in the book, in general. He made a huge point while holding up the book that kerry has not come forward to answer even ONE question in the book...not one direct response to the book.

John, on his own behalf, and as rep of all the Swiftees, is armed with the truth -- powerful, honest, tenacious, and a force to be reckoned with!! GREAT SHOW!!

There's no way of knowing in advance what c-span will archive and what they won't... at least, not as far as I can tell.

God bless C-Span. They are one of the few outlets left with integrity.
