There were 6 memos not just 4. These appear to be what CBS sent to USA today.. They look different, to me, but i'm posting the heads up, before viewing them..

Yes, they came out yesterday, as I recall. I have a copy, and I'm sure they are spread out everywhere by now.

But, it's good to stay on top of these things.

They look fairly different. No blackout of the address.
I can't tell yet if the signatures are cut and pasted or just cleaned up.
Quite frankly they look very fishy, but i'm not sure why...

These look like they were heavily compressed at some point and show the artifacts (patterns around contrasting areas) of JPEG like compression. They also look like they've made at least one more pass through some scanning process like a fax.

they were probably recompiled into "one" PDF. Acrobat has built in compression of images. It would re-compress then if you did that.

Agree---the artifacts in the signatures and text are becaue of faxing or compression....I would not read anything into that....but the fact of the 2 other memos is interesting...very interesting for their contents.

Interesting to note the heading in the June '73 memo has a superscript, unlike the similar headings on the '72 memos. Also, the June'73 heading does not list the city, Houston.

The more I look at these memos the more I think that this has to be a practical joke run amuck. “P.O. Box 34567” come on who would seriously believe that this could pass the smell test. I think somebody thought they would have a little fun and made up some obviously bogus documents and they somehow got into the hands of some desperate people and it has just snowballed from there and now CBS has not other option then to ride it out and hope it goes away. What a sorry state the dems are in where they have to hope that fake documents can save there campaign.

I think the only reason CBS is defending it is because the source is some variety of Democratic Leadership. If they don't maintain that the Memo's are legitimate they would have to disclose their sources....and that would trash the election completely for Kerry.

I can think of no other reason why CBS would be defending such clear Forgeries.

I can not believe they are still trying to hold the line, they may be trying to figure out how to say they are Fakes and still not disclose the source.
