I urgently need you to add your voice to a massive national effort calling on the media to stop promoting leftist propaganda and start TELLING THE TRUTH.

We’re the Media Research Center (MRC), America’s largest and most effective media watchdog. We’ve been leading the fight for fairness and balance in the news media for 17 years.

And with this TELL THE TRUTH 2004 campaign, we’re not just exposing liberal bias in the news, we’re launching a grassroots activist campaign to FIGHT BACK.

Because, like you, we’re fed up with this leftist press.

And when we fight back against these leftist TV news broadcasters and newspapers, we need to use your name. We want them to know that you are demanding they start telling the truth!

Day after day, night after night the leftist “news” media question, denounce or just plain ignore any good news about our recovering economy and big successes in the war on terrorism.

These liberals want higher taxes and massively expensive new federal experiments like socialized health care. They want America –- and the world –- to see our military as corrupt and barbaric.

And these liberal so-called “reporters” are denouncing anyone or anything that stands in the way of that message.

They’re tossing aside any pretense of objectivity, distorting the truth, and simply refusing to report real news that doesn’t fit their leftist political agenda.

And they’re pumping their distorted, leftist slant on the news into your community, through the TV news programs you watch and the newspapers you read.

That’s why it’s critical that you tell these leftist activists in the media to start TELLING THE TRUTH!

And we’re going to deliver that message for you.

At the Media Research Center we’ve launched the massive “Tell the Truth!” 2004 campaign to reach 50 million Americans every week between now and the end of the year with the evidence of the “news” media’s leftist tilt.

From now until the end of the year the MRC will be monitoring virtually all news programming on television, both network and cable; monitoring all of the major newspapers, magazines and wire services; and monitoring assorted radio broadcasts as well.

And with the evidence of this left-wing agenda in hand -- we’ll pounce. We’ll be confronting the top executives of the broadcast and print liberal media companies all across the country, and holding them ACCOUNTABLE for their flagrant leftist bias.

And we’ll also be contacting frequent SPONSORS of the network news broadcasts, which so consistently lean left, and holding them accountable, too. Why? Because their commercials are PAYING FOR the ABC, CBS and NBC evening news broadcasts, which have turned into nothing less than liberal propaganda outlets.

Why are major national companies like General Mills – parent of such all-American brands as Betty Crocker, Pillsbury and Wheaties; Schering-Plough Health Care -- makers of Claritin; and Hyundai Motors.

. . . why are these companies paying for the promotion of the liberal political agenda?

No one has ever challenged these big companies -- shining examples of the benefits of America’s free-enterprise system -- as to why they spend millions to promote leftism. But we’re going to challenge them now.

And we want and need you with us in this campaign. They must know millions of Americans are outraged. They MUST hear from you! To get on board, please take the following simple steps right away --

(1.) Go right now to your e-mail address book and FORWARD this message to every friend, relative and colleague who shares your convictions about the lack of fairness and balance in the news media’s political coverage.

According to a poll of the national news media published this spring, the media themselves admit their left-wing bias. By a factor of 5-1 they label themselves as liberal over conservative.

But the public is on to them. By a factor of 2-1, Americans believe there is a leftist tilt to the news media.

And that gives us an opening. There is still much more that needs to be done. There are many, many more millions of Americans we need to reach.

Lend your name to the “TELL THE TRUTH!” 2004 campaign today, so we can expose and FIGHT BACK against liberal bias on ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN news broadcasts and in major print media, too.
