No. 1  Paul was born clubfooted.  Here he is in the year 2004 held by his mother.

No. 2  Paul was operated on in January 2005.  Here he is in a plaster cast.

No. 3  Later in 2005, Paul sleeps peacefully, his feet straight now.

No. 4  Livingstone with his mother.  He was born with a “deviated foot,” i.e. pointing backwards.

No.  5.  When Livingstone was operated on, it was necessary to remove his deviated foot.  Here he is after the operation with his mother.  He has now been given an artificial foot.

No. 6  Vision was born club footed.  Since he was less than a year old, it was not necessary to operate on him.  Rather, several plaster casts were applied which straightened his feet.  He is shown here with his father.

No. 7  Vision was given special shoes (which he hated!) to help in the final process of straightening his feet.

No. 8  Stephen, too was club footed.

No. 9  After his operation, Stephen faces the future with confidence.

No. 10  Christine was burned so could not straighten her arm.

No. 11 After her operation, Christine proudly shows off her straight arm.

No. 17  Kamau pushed by his brother, James, during the school holiday in 2005.  (By this time we had taken him to a boarding school.)  Unfortunately, he died last year (2007).
