From the Media Research Center:

Quote:
Even before John Kerry used his Vietnam record to vault to victory in the Iowa Democratic caucuses, the national media frequently touted the Massachusetts liberal as a decorated, thrice-wounded war hero. But apart from interviewing the small group of Vietnam veterans who have campaigned with Kerry over the last two decades, national reporters did not seek out others to confirm or challenge the tales of Kerry’s valor and heroism. The networks' approach to questions about Kerry’s past is in stark contrast to the aggressiveness with which they pursued theories about Bush’s National Guard service (see #3).

Then on May 4, a group of more than 250 Vietnam veterans — including Kerry’s superior officers and many who served with him when he was a Swift Boat commander — launched a public challenge to Kerry’s version of Vietnam. At a press conference, they charged Kerry had greatly embellished his military record and betrayed his fellow Swift Boat veterans when he went before the Senate to make sweeping charges of American war crimes in Vietnam. Based on this record, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth declared Kerry “unfit” to serve as Commander in Chief.
Yet the national media still offered little scrutiny of either Kerry’s service or his anti-war rhetoric...

And the MSM pundits continue to claim the media is biased to the conservative side.

Regardless of the outcome of this election, somthing needs to be done about the blatant propaganda being spread by the MSM media.

It just makes me sick.

Now if only this had come a month earlier..
Amazing how little people realise the extent to which the MSM is willing to go to mislead and misrepresent based on their Biases. With all the obvious examples of media bias out there, the general population is still willing to listen and believe the "Big 3" Networks and the NY Times etc...
Well we need to keep on pounding on them and exposing them for the biased frauds they are.

Thank heavens for Brent Bozell and Media Research!

People pay attention to him and a few more have something to think about, over the next couple of days.

Swifts "largely discredited?" Only for the Kerry cheerleaders of our leftist media.

If they're so discredited, how did the group manage to become the single most effective 527 in the country, starting on a shoestring and with only a little web site and a tiny ad buy?

Truth is truth - the Swifts and POW's have spoken theirs and people have listened and heard in it the integrity and the urgency of their message.

The Swifts have single-handedly countered three years of nearly constant Bush-bashing and eight months of pro-Kerry coverage. If it weren't for them, Poseur Kerry would probably have walked away with this thing a long time ago.

Yup - stop watching, stop buying, stop doing anything to support them. Money talks in that industry, big time. See: Fox News.

If you subscribe to Time, Newsweek, US News, your local paper, anything where you find the bias to be pronounced, call via phone. When they ask why, tell them.

I did that with the Star Tribune here in the Twin Cities. I subscribe to the St. Paul Pioneer Press, which is trending back toward some balance. Today, they endored Bush - which is pretty big news around these parts.

It's one way we can each speak very loudly....

You gotta realize that the public sees Republicans and Democrats. In reality there are Conservatives and Liberals. McCain may be a Republican but he is a staunch Liberal. Zell Miller may be a Democrat but he is 100% Conservative.
Just how many Democrats will vote the party line (for that VC collaborator Kerry) even though it conflicts with their beliefs as Conservatives?

I'm from Buffalo, New York.
I stopped subscribing to the one-and-only local paper ten years ago.
I just got fed up with the liberal borderline communist slant to every article.
I now get 100% of my news over the internet.
If New York were any farther left, it could be declared a soviet block state.

Excellent. Just the type of level headed objectivity this country needs!

That says it all. The outcome of the election aside, the MSM needs to be transformed into a source of information, not propaganda. The MSM personnel are not elected and have no right to such power. They've simply taken it...and it can be taken back from them by the public.

Those in the MSM are having a very hard time adjusting to the new paradigm, but the change is not reversible and is increasing. Interestingly, the MSM's only counterattack against the "alternate media" has been more of the same - propaganda - showing the ossified, one-dimensional thinking of decades of unbridled privilige.

Translation: weakness.

A good start will be in the language of our exposure of the corruption of the liberal media.

The term "mainstream" is inaccurate and only helps these arrogant dishonest propagandists who call themselves "journalists" continue.

Journalism should be an honorable profession. But what we see on the traditional broadcast networks is corrupt to the core.

CORRUPT is the key word.

Call em the Corrupt Liberal Media (CLM)every time you refer to them.

If we can get the term Corrupt Liberal Media to replace the "mainstream" falsehood, then half the battle is won

Even though the election is tomorrow, I would highly recommend signing up for their daily Emails. Media Research Center does a fantastic job of exposing the liberal bias of the media!

They would not have been exposed if not for some very vigilant bloggers that were willing to share their info and sources with the people. That is what is hurting the MSM. They cannot continue with outright bias if they are constantly exposed. It's a numbers game, expose them, let their sponsors know that their products will suffer if their support continues. It will take time and some guy that are like ticks... Brokaw, Rather, and the like will still be hard to get rid of but they will wilt on the vine.

Fox is continuing to gain market share for a reason. The shareholders of other news outlets will demand better coverage also or face dwindling marketshares. Hit them in the pocketbook.

But from what I see, we have many good people that are willing to dig deep into stories and share what they find. Something sorely lacking in the MSM. Keep up the good work.

I agree with ya Army 72. The economic boycott of the sponsors is a good tactic. But for a boycott to be effective, it must be sustained and widespread. We can do it. But lets make it a full court press.

The left knows the power of language. some examples, affirmative action, diversity, homophobia.

By using the term Corrupt Liberal Media(CLM) it hits them every time it is spoken or written.

"CORRUPT" is the key word here

Everytime you use it you are charging them with the corruption of journalistic ethics.

If the CLM becomes a household word it will sting every time they hear it.
