Republicans expanded their majority in the Senate, knocking off Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle in a grim night for Democrats. The GOP also extended its decade-long hold on the House for another two years, knocking off four veteran Texas Democrats.

Is that enough of a majority to deport any and all public leaders who kept accusing Bush of being 'un-American'...... maybe we could just deport any one who said they were moving to France..

I remember Bush telling Bill O'reily (in response to a question about the press) that he would nto "take on" the press ina an electoion year. Hope he goes after the numbn*ts now.

I think that five of the new Senators from seats that were formerly
Democratic are not going to be one term wonders. They are outstanding
candidates who will be oustanding Senators and will probably be elected
again in six years. Burr in NC, Thune in SD, Martinez in FL, Vitter in LA,
and DeMint in SC. I think Coors in CO had a pretty strong showing, but
he was running against a formidable candidate. He might have a chance
in future Senate race. I think that the Dems have NO chance at retaking
the Senate for a very long time! That is great news since the Senate is
a roadblock to so many good things that Bush wants to accomplish.

Looks like Tom will have to live off his wife for awhile. Now he doesn't have maintain his address in SD and can just stay in his little cabin in NE DC with the other common folk.

I'm sure the joy of being free of the Puffster far exceeds any except the Presidential election. It's right up there though the residents of NC are also free of the Breck Girl. Now both states have real Senators.
