TV crew on the way to my house
NBC 2, the local NBC news reporter is on the way. I will attempt to be reasonable enough to get some good sound bites on the air. Will give an update if anything comes of it.

I did get in the story of how Jane Fonda turned over the notes she was given by POW's the the Viet Nam camp commander, but I bet that never gets aired.
More later, must work, must remember I am married, must remember to pay bills, must remember to by gas for the car, etc.

My total contribution to the story was a shot of your's truly, looking good and intoning with stentorian eloquence, "A soldier who knows his mission is supported by the folks back home is a safer and more fierce soldier in battle."
That it.
Trust me, the young woman who interviewed me remembers. The cameraman was nearly worshipful toward me when he left. Two more who can at least see through the same window as we do.

I suspect this thread is about to die a natural death. So I am going to honor a drunken solemn vow I made to a buddy back in 1970. He wrote on a bar napkin what he wanted me to toast to him every Veterans Day. And I did the same. I hereby live up to my drunken solemn vow:

Yes a Veterans story. It has already been on. They focus on the efforts of a go-getter lady I know who is shipping packages off to the men in a platoon she adopted. Good story.
But they really didn't talk about veterans.
