the "others"had dogs "too" and as you say they were good

sorry to say , the cs canisters we had made short work of

their nose's abilities, I hope none of ours got that kind of

treatment from the "others"

I remember seeing an USAF one, I do hope you can get this through.

Is Rodger Lightner on your group? He's a retired USAF Security Police CMSgt that was a Dog Handler for a number of years in the USAF.

Thank-you, and our dog Princess thanks-you too!

Thanks Rolex! Where did you see the USAF one? And I'll check on Rodger Lightner, but you can go to www.vdhaonline.org , and click on the units page, and AF units. Maybe you'll see someone you know!

What a great thing you are trying to do! I have seen that War Dogs special on Animal Planet, and it upset me greatly, and wondered what in the world could be done to bring our war dogs home instead of leaving them behind for whatever fate they came to. Glad to hear about the bill that was signed. That may have been in the story, but I don't recall it. Good luck on the memorial!

Thanks pegm. I've seen that video about 200 times, and I still shed a few tears upon seeing it.

Yep, I caught it. That was what I looked like over across that great big pond in SEA.

Thanks to all the doghandlers and the war dogs. You guys are outstanding. I remember one handler in I Corps in 1970-71. He was a SGT (E5) and his name was Pepper. I know, he heard all the jokes and ribbing about being SGT Pepper. I lost touch with him. He was a great guy and his dog was 1st rate.

Anyway wardogs and handlers - welcome home!

Just to update this thread. Our Chairman and President of the National War Dog Team Memorial Committee met with Congressman Walter P. Jones from North Carolina, and a second time with his staff. Congressman Jones is going to sponsor a bill for our memorial in the House of Representatives. He is planning on this bill being ready the last of January, and having the Executive Committee and Artist in Washington, DC, to announce the bill, kick off the national campaign for this memorial, and a national press conference. Then he plans to introduce the bill in the House of Representatives in early February, and put it up for a vote shortly afterwards.

More to follow, but after January, expect to hear alot about our memorial, and our national campaign.
