When I was in the third grade there was a jelly bean contest where the goal was to count the numbers of jelly beans in the jar and you win the beans. The only rule was you couldn't remove the cap but you could pick up the jar, so I picked up the jar and counted the number of beans on the bottom and then multiplied them by the number of rows.

I counted 31 on the bottom and 53 beans to the top and guessed 1643 beans in all. Unfortunately for me there was exactly 1643 beans in all. The teachers all declared it impossible for me to guess that number and threw my number out. They surmised I somehow came about the number through hearing from someone the number. I pleaded my deductive reasoning for how I concluded my numbers and they said I needed to go talk with my family. I went to my father and asked for him to intervene and all he said was damn good manipulation, but listen to your teachers.

I pleaded my intellectual case to both teacher and family to no avail and lost that jar of beans to the second guesser.

Who was that second guesser?

Paul Krugman and everyone else who has to win at anything through best intention and not the truth.

I guessed the number of beans in that jar precisely, yet Krugman would guess a totally different number and give you a multitude of reasons which have no explanation for their conclusion.

Krugman is a fake second guesser!

Excellent! GenrXr.
You might enjoy an old article by Arnold Kling who brilliantly
takes Krugman apart.

Very good article Shawa, but watch an interview with Krugman and view his darting eyes. Krugman is still trying to count the jelly beans.

Razz

In the Liberal world, guessing is OK unless you get it right. What you made was a SWAG or a Scientific WAG, unfortunaely, as you say, it was right and therefore, in the liberal world, wrong. Makes sense to them.

That many jelly beans wouldn't have been good for you anyway. Lucky for you!
