Should be mandatory viewing of all US Citizens. Could be played by TV networks as a valuable public service this day, all other patriotic days or even every day!

Its a sad place we have come to, but you are not going to see anything on any of the major networks, which would/could inspire pride in our troops or a sense of patriotism in the folks back home. We will, however, comtinue to hear about "torture" in Abu Gharaib, Korans tossed in the toilet at Gitmo, and Soldiers shooting wounded "non-combatants" in Mosques, and mud wrestling female soldiers.
You have to search out forums or blogs like this one to hear of things like Gitmo prisoners throwing urine or feces on the guards, or masterbating in front of female guards, but if that female guard handles the prisoner's Koran without gloves, or with the left hand, it is on the evening news.
After 9-11, they stopped showing the pictures from the tradegy at the world trade center, alledgedly due to the sensitive and upsetting nature of the tradegy on the victims and their families, but we have seen the Abu Ghraib pics unrelentingly now for going on 2 years.
When it comes to what is news, the criteria is "if it makes the Military or the Administration look good, it is ignored, non-news, however if it will make the Military or the Administration look bad or be embarrassed, it leads, front page, for weeks or months, till they can no longer generate any interest at all.
Such is the nature of the mainstream media in todays times.
