I pieced togeter a grid map of the delta last night because I could not find one were I could easily (and with confidence) mark Kerry's AAR coordinates. I scaled it down 50% for bandwidth considerations...if someone wants to host the 800KB larger one I'll send it. But this one is easy enough to chart out where Kerry says he was.

If you need a really detailed map of some part of Viet Nam use the service at http://maps.google.com/
First zoom in a close as you can then change over to the satelite imaging service and you can zoom in even more. Parts of VN are better documented than others, so try different magnifications. I was able to zoom in and make out the microwave transmitters on the top of Vung Tau Mountain (VC Hill for those of us who were there in the late 60s.)
This really is a good mapping service. Although Viet Nam isn't down to the street map level, many parts of Europe and the UK are. For Viet Nam the satelite detail is sufficient to make out items the size of a large house or building though.

As for old fashioned paper map:

The Defense Mapping Agency still has quantities of Viet Namese maps. The reference grid for ordering them needs be transferred to a larger map to make use of it. Strangely, some 20% of these 40 year old maps are still 'CLASSIFIED' material and requests are denied. Khe Sahn came through though.

NOAA charts are available as well.
