brilliant segment by el rushbo
RUSH: Let me tell you what will be happening right now if the vice president were a Democrat, if this were a Democratic administration and the same set of circumstances had happened. Of course, would you have a Democrat out hunting? The thing is, if a Democrat went hunting, there would be cameras along so that they could show people they're not anti-NRA. But let's just assume for the sake of it, let's just assume that it's a Democratic administration, Democrat vice president is out hunting with some close friends, and an accident happens, and the Democrat vice president (say Al Gore), blasts away Ron Burkle, who was a big Democrat contributor. Let's just say that that happens. You know what we'd be getting in the press ever since then, ever since the news came out? We would be getting story after story after story produced by the mainstream press to try to teach and inform and educate everybody on gun safety and hunting safety and how accidents happen, and how we have to realize:
"Accidents happen out there in the marshlands of America when people go quail hunting, and you gotta be prepared to deal with these accidents, and it was a great thing that the vice president's security detail and medical staff were right there to rush this accident victim to the hospital as soon as possible". We would be hearing stories about how distraught and distressed the vice president was. The vice president would be beside himself, thinking of hanging up his guns forever. We would be reading stories about countless other accidents that have happened while people have been out hunting, and we would have prominent Democrats on television saying, "Oh, yes, my friend had this happen." We would be barraged with how common it is. We would be told throughout the days that this is very, very common, and that's why gun safety measures are so important. It would be entirely different. The vice president's mental condition would be worried about.

OK. I was munching my lunch yesterday with FOX news on. They
had Scott McClellan doing a press briefing at the White House. The
"reporter" with the pink shirt was giving Scott a bad time, and Scott
was trying to move on.
Now, if these "reporters" were actually trying to gather the news,
wouldn't it make more sense to jump on an airplane and fly to Texas
with a news crew and actually interview the prople involved? Like
the Deputy who took the report, the Doctors who treated Mr. Whittington,
taken footage at the scene? Just my humble opinion, but what kind of
"news" can you report from a seat in a small room at the White House? _________________ Tin Can Sailor |

I am not sure the White House press jumps on a plane and goes anywhere. But you are mistaken if you think they want to report the news. They want to "get" the president and this administration. They want to be the first press person to ask the right question that brings him down. If you know that simple fact you can listen to their questions and understand.
